Maybe the micro-transactions are just in multiplayer mode? Micro-transactions in singleplayer would be cancer.
And would be modded/hacked out.
Eh, as long as it's "pay to get shit faster", over "pay to win the game"; I won't mind it. I actually didn't use the black market all that much in JC2 anyways, shit is easy to find
its already confirmed with episodic releases. just play JC2 MP instead.
Got a source on this?
they've never put them in another game I'll just hope they don't put them in this game.
Yeah, the "Black Market" rip
Well this thread has been an emotional rollercoaster
The diamond symbol and the "Buy more" prompt makes me think it's some microtransaction currency, how would you "buy" ingame money? [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Unless you can buy normal ingame money with real money, which is also terrible.
Buying in game money is hardly "terrible", just don't do it. I remember quite clearly that Dead Space 3 had a "buy these resource packs you fuck" thing going on, but you never needed to buy them unless you wanted game-breakingly overpowered shit for zero effort. Hell, didn't Visceral leave a "bug" in that let you farm resources?

Hell, didn't Visceral leave a "bug" in that let you farm resources?
Yeah I made a post about DS3 later, it's definitely the best use of microtransactions if the devs absolutely want them in though I'm still not happy about it, what happened to just playing the game and progressing at a normal pace? It almost feels like paying for cheats. I guess it can be seen as a non-intrusive way for people to support the developer further, but still.
The only way im gonna care is if it is cut content repurposed as dlc or if its pay2win.
Don't get hyped.
Congratulations, mister Sundberg, not only will you become hated for even having said something like that, you've also completely ruined something that had the potential to be great. However, I do think microtransactions and free-to-play elements can be something positive, as long as they're implemented properly. Something like this, for example: The thing is 100% free to download and use, albeit it's fairly heavily locked-down. Now you can choose to either unlock certain content for smaller sums of money, I.E, through micro-transactions, or you can pay a larger sum of money, the full retail-price, say, 60 dollars, which in turn gives you the full, unlocked product, without any micro-transactions. This would make it use a shareware model of sorts, which you can upgrade if you so wish. It would also nullify the old piracy excuses of "But I only pirate stuff because I want to try it/see how it runs on my system"
Honestly, if it has microtransactions, I'm keeping my money. This is not remotely acceptable in a game I already paid money for.
if this is microtransaction based you can say good bye to my cash. thats like paying 59.99 and paying 39.99 in total for the rest of the game that makes it remotely playable and fun.
The new protagonist looks so... Generic and boring, it looks like just another worn-out mercenary kind of guy. Rico had this spanish/mexican Robert de Niro thing going on which gave him some character
http://avalanchestudios.com/news/just-cause-3-unveiled/
Following last week's rumours and speculation, we also wanted to take the opportunity to address a few misconceptions. Those leaked screenshots were taken from an ancient version of Just Cause 3. Like most games, this one went through an exploratory phase where we looked at different control schemes, different technologies, different business models. Those leaked screenshots show aspects of that process, and in no way reflect the game we are making today. To be perfectly clear: Just Cause 3 will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It will be distributed as a retail box and digital download. It is not a Free To Play game. It does not feature in-game micro transactions.

They look the fucking same. I swear you people actively look for things to complain about.
Lighting and angles are one hell of a drug. Apparently. Why would Avalanche drop Rico for the third game? We was still zipping around and shit by the end of the second, and his character is pretty fun. They just need to make the others more interesting really (fuck you Santooooseeeeee).
They look the fucking same. I swear you people actively look for things to complain about.
Confirmed: The leaks were fake and Rico is not in Smash 4.
bolo santosi PLEASE return
I swear you people actively look for things to complain about.
News Node in a nutshell.
I hope the console versions have some fucking cheats this time. Not having cheats was the reason i traded in my copy of Just Cause 2 pretty soon after completing the story. You were not allowed to just fuck shit up, you ran out of ammo in about 5 minutes and you ran out of cash after buying more ammo and a car. Wouldn't have been that much of a problem if getting cash wasn't such a grind.
It's not free 2 play atleast. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/11/11/is-just-cause-3-free-to-play.aspx
I'm not sure if a paid game with microtransactions is really better than a free game with microtransactions. Just don't save your game and you won't have to grind every time.
I don't mind micro transactions so long as the game isn't poorly made to the point of the only way to win the game is to pay. If it's for something like a time shortcut to get X, or have stupid cheat Y enabled; I don't mind
I have a save that I reload whenever I want to fuck shit up. Just don't save your game and you won't have to grind every time.
Just use bolo patch for infinite ammo. Have other fun stuff like unbreakable grapples and multiple grapples too.
Please have the same voice acting as JC2.
Now that this is cleared up, I'm hyped again, mostly for seeing some media soon, the first two games were absolutely gorgeous for their time (the second one still holds up really well today), let's hope the third one continues the trend.
Yep, the protagonist of JC3 is still our boy Rico, the Steam page says so http://store.steampowered.com/app/225540/ [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] The page also says that there's a wingsuit and "online community features" I don't know but that's not what i call multiplayer

I hope we have a JC:MP style multiplayer from launch
