Am I the only one who thought JC2 was only okay? Story and voice acting were both (hilariously) shit. When literally every character can't act, then it just detracts from the game. The world was huge but there was no real huge area to wreck havok in. There was a villa here and a oil station there but overall if you want to have fun, you have to traverse 1000 miles of nothing just to get to another very small playground. So basically, the world was very small since literally nothing happens in those empty spaces. The grapple mechanic was amazing although they missed some opportunities. Riding around on the hood of a car was fun as fuck...when it actually worked. The one mission where it was featured in was fun as hell, then it was missing for the rest of the game and you can never emulated the same experience on your own. How planes and helicopters handled with grappling was amazing though. Shooting and gunplay was terrible and no one can deny this fact. Overall Just Cause 2 is an okay game but it was never anything special. PC mods made it so much better but still, core vanilla Just Cause 2 was a missed opportunity. Here's hoping 3 does a better job of filling empty gaps in the world, having a good story, better combat, and better fucking voice acting.
http://avalanchestudios.com/news/just-cause-3-unveiled/
So where do I pre-order?
Story and voice acting were both (hilariously) shit. When literally every character can't act, then it just detracts from the game.
Uh, that was the whole point. The story and voice acting were meant to make it a B-rated 70s action flick.
Don't get hyped.
And people wonder why games are being pirated these days.
While I loved JC2, my issue with it was that I felt like they attempted to fix the biggest complaint of JC1, that there was not enough to do, but giving you too much to do, though none of it being very compelling. Liberating a town or an outpost started feeling samey after the 10th time you do it, and while there were a bunch of faction missions to do, most of them had terribly simple objectives and could be completed in only a couple minutes. There were a few really cool, stand out missions, like the Mile High Club, the launch pad, or the lost island missions, but they only made me wish the rest of the missions were as cool as they were. The biggest missions were the main story missions, but there were only like, 6 of them, which was another big bummer. Just Cause is at it's best when it's giving the player plenty of opportunities to do wild and crazy shit, but it felt like it would have trouble giving you enough of those opportunities. Fighting my way through an outpost that has very little verticality and not many interactive objects isn't nearly as enjoyable as tethering an enemy to the blade of a windmill and watching it yank him into the sky.
Please have the same voice acting as JC2.
How can I help you, hombre?
de REEP hers
Uh, that was the whole point. The story and voice acting were meant to make it a B-rated 70s action flick.
Also to denote, I'm pretty sure a tounge-in-cheek satire.
Destructible terrain please thanks.
The entire series is on sale on Steam. As someone who's never played it before, is it worth it?
Do you like tounge-in-cheek satire/political commentary, do you like bad 70s style voice-acting, do you like high octane third person action with tons of grappling, shooting, driving and fancy stunting around? [editline]11th November 2014[/editline] Basically amp up GTA's action, speed, and parody and this is what you get
The entire series is on sale on Steam. As someone who's never played it before, is it worth it?
Just Cause 2 is great, the first one is pretty terrible, though.
That sounds really fun. Looking in to it though, looks like the first game has a trash port and the second one would cripple my pc.
snip, typo when searching, was already posted. No microtransactions or subscriptions ahoy! Hope it's as good as 2.
Just Cause 2 is great, the first one is pretty terrible, though.
I wouldn't call it terrible but its sequel trumps it in p. much every way. For the price of the bundle(Which induces the small DLCs for 2 + JC1) its not bad. If you decided to play JC2 first it will be very hard to play 1.

Ive seen that same fucking comment 20 times today, It should be added to the OP at this point. It was in fact posted 6 times on the last page alone.
Hell yes, Just Cause 2 was a lot of fun just going around and wrecking the place.
That sounds really fun. Looking in to it though, looks like the first game has a trash port and the second one would cripple my pc.
JC2's system requirements are surprisingly low.
JC2 is a very well made game. Launching it and getting into the game takes less than 6 seconds, and that's without an SSD.
They look the fucking same. I swear you people actively look for things to complain about.
For whatever reason sometimes people are really trying way too hard to nitpick [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] Honestly all I want is have every building being destructible Kinda like Mercenaries 2
JC2 is a very well made game. Launching it and getting into the game takes less than 6 seconds, and that's without an SSD.
It's also 6 gb large compared to the originals 8, somehow
If it is at least as good as the second game was I'll be real happy. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] I don't want multiplayer at launch since I fear that will take away time for them to work on the SP.
I hope it's filled with way more exploration and stuff to find.
Let's hope the combat doesn't feel weird and floaty.
If all this microtransaction shit is true, that is like one of the final blows to my interest to anything happening new in the industry. I am trying NOT to be cynical about videogames, but there is just so much shitty shit happening that I am finally just starting to say fuck videogames. edit: Didn't read page 2 before posting, thank the lord it's not true. My statement still stands though, there really isn't a whole lot to grab on to these days.
JC2 is a very well made game. The assets aren't exactly low quality and the renderer has quite a bit to do with some settings turned on. Avalanche did a fucking amazing job with the PC version.

New info in about an hour [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] http://www.gameinformer.com/p/justcause3.aspx
What's wrong with micro transactions if they aren't required to beat/complete the game?
Judging from the leaked screenshots, it looked like they were getting away with barring content that would usually just come from the vanilla game. Just Cause isn't just about "beating the game". It's about exploring, having fun, and having a lot of content to play around with or have at your disposal. And this whole micro transaction/f2p general mindset that a lot of developers and publishers have is one of the things holding back decent quality standards for video games, especially for PC games. It's just one of those modern era bullshit money making ideas that has gone too far, and a lot of developers would rather make something extremely hollow and just say will add content to the game later for a price, or just have it be a hollow F2P game with cosmetics. However, this doesn't apply anymore. I am extremely happy they dropped whatever they doing in those leaked screenshots. I can actually be somewhat optimistic about the third game to one of my favorite franchises in a long time.
