NASA has brought a surplus for every expense which has been spent on it. At the current moment, the F35 program is doing similar numbers, but that's only because the US has everyone cockslapped in NATO to buy it.
what
Good. The more funding we give sciences, especially space exploration, the better. Maybe NASA will be the first to put boots on Mars after all.
NSA should give tips to NASA about what they can do to get more funding probably goes like this "congressmen, we cannot give you the access to your political opponents phones, but for 45 billion we can make an orbital laser that can shine in his or hers eye from anywhere on the planet so when they make speeches or are in debates they have to squint and look around and look bad" *budget approved instantly*
Good. The more funding we give sciences, especially space exploration, the better. Maybe NASA will be the first to put boots on Mars after all.
They really arent getting "more money" their budget that got signed is also identical to last years
This has probably already been said, but at first I thought the title said NSA, and I was pretty upset. The 170+ Winner ratings were enough to tip me off that I misread something though.
Can we try to fix the economy somewhat first? That's a lot of money.
With that mindset, it would make more sense to cut the defense budget and entitlements.
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/66/NASA_dollars.jpg[/t]
Go California. [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] And Virginia
Also I don't know why the article says the entire federal budget is $1.1 trillion, according to Wikipedia it's much bigger: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_United_States_federal_budget Does anyone know what it actually is/what the article really means?
That 2014 budget never passed, it was Obama's proposal for 2014 from ages ago This law only funds the government from now until September 30, not a full year so it's less
Can we try to fix the economy somewhat first? That's a lot of money.
You are a big ding-dang-dummy, pal.
i will die a very happy man if they manage to get man on mars in our lifetime
I'm not understanding the mass off winner ratings. Isn't this budget amount for NASA roughly the same if not lower as previous years? It would be great if an extra $10 billion could have been chucked on there. [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] Like hell, I don't even think that's half a percent of the federal budget. Screw my $10 billion remark, just get it over the 1% line to begin with.
In my onion at least many perlents of federal money should be put into the NASA and not the rolling metal tanks and guns and shootys [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] Make flying things that penetrate the uppy uppys, not war!
who needs an economy when we can have THE UNIVERSE
Need to find aliens to borrow money from when no one here wants too
ITT: People who don't understand the amount given to NASA is minute relative to the federal budget. Do you people realize how many things the space industry and NASA has done for humans? The number of inventions that have come about because of it? The budget should be increasing.
Can we try to fix the economy somewhat first? That's a lot of money.
do you want to get slapped
Do you people realize how many things the space industry and NASA has done for humans? NASA isn't the only agency that gives back.

NASA isn't the only agency that gives back.
How much money goes to that though? From what I hear most of the military budget goes to things like "countering terrorism" and rolling out new vehicles. Forgive me if I'm wrong, when you don't have a clue what these agencies / departments are called or what they do its easy to get mixed up information. Also don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you but I am, admittedly, a bit biased towards space research, lot of hope for it. Anyway. Even though the budget is lower, after skimming through this http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BUDGET-2014-BUD/pdf/BUDGET-2014-BUD-23.pdf, It looks like they are at least moving around which parts of NASA research the money is going to, which is nice to see.
