MSN Messenger was like my first interaction with social networking. Goddamn Remember my favorite feature was the chat knowing what I was listening to, and having it placed below my name. I dont know why but I thought that was pretty cool

So many fond memories of spamming that obnoxious laughing woman animation to my first internet friend and having him dub her "banana head". Fucking with Spleak and asking her about stupid shit like tophats and getting "I know about top hats! They're a kind of hat!" in response. Playing those shitty flash tic tac toe/trivia games and glitching them up as hard as possible. Forgetting to set yourself as busy and being greeted with the IM chime while ingame. Skype is just so soulless in comparison.

Since it was the only safe way to turn them off. People were replacing common words with emoticons, making everything anoying to read.

I remember the last time I used MSN Messenger was about 5 years ago, RIP MSN Messenger, you will be missed.

I think MSN was like the first website I signed up for anything and used it before any other service such as facebook.

He spoke to me at school the next day and it turned out he'd turned his computer off in a panic, unplugged it and hidden the tower somewhere in his house so that his parent wouldn't get pissed that he'd got a virus on their PC.
