Because it's a stupid change
That still doesn't make it newsworthy.
This is braindead. My school has the usual California dress code against gang attire, but it's really only enforced when someone's already in trouble for something else. On top of that, how is banning all boots going to solve this?
This just in, lungs banned because they can be used to smoke weed.
I wonder if they've banned those big boots with metal bits one them that goth/metal types wear? One of the high schools near me has after someone got kicked in the stomach with them.
are you talking about steel-toed boots I can see how you'd confuse goth/metal types with welders and construction workers yes
Since when do you only have to look at it in between classes?
Since when do you only have to look at it during classes?
My friend puts his cigarettes in a hollow mechanical pencil. He's way ahead of these stupid mother fuckers.
I think we found the plot for Contraband 2.
are you talking about steel-toed boots I can see how you'd confuse goth/metal types with welders and construction workers yes
Erm, no. These things.
how is it legal for schools to take students possessions like phones anyway like what the fuck
Minors have very limited rights, especially when they're in a school. I thought that was common knowledge, now.
My friend used to keep her cell phone in her ugg. The whole point of it was you could bring your leg up by sitting crosslegged and you would be able to grab it under the table. Worked until she got caught.
a high school one of my friends went to banned backpacks to stop potential drug transport it was much more of an annoyance rather than something that was actually supportive in any way, of course
Ban pockets.
Read the comments in these articles it's hilarious. They are saying cellphones are distractions in class. They only distract the person using them :|
I dunno bro, no one looks at their crotch and smiles in the middle of a classroom. That's pretty distracting.
Next they need to ban assholes. Y'know, in case someone wants to hide something in there.
School buttplugs now part of the uniform
School buttplugs now part of the uniform
hot
Cell phones are mobile computers with internet access. There is no way they should EVER be allowed in schools as all they will lead to is a shitload of cheating.
If you can do well on a test with shit you look up on your phone while taking it, then the test, and the course itself, aren't well designed. If memorization of specific facts is ultimately what is being tested, then you are effectively wasting your time.
hot
Uniform inspections just became a whole lot more exciting
The ban on cell phones is ridiculous, anyway. A dumb rule leading to a dumber rule.
Bombs can be set off with cellphones. They cause distractions in class. They can be used to cheat on classwork/tests. There's more where that came from. It's a very reasonable ban.
I studied at a Catholic school from elementary to high school, from high school to gymnasium and then moved on to university life elsewhere. During my entire stay at the Catholic place, their dress code didn't change: We didn't have one. You could come in wearing whatever. Cellphones were allowed as long as they were silenced in class and students preferred laptops to notebooks. As long as you weren't being disruptive, the staff didn't intervene. The school had free to use internet as well. We never had any violent situations or threats of violence, no disruptive behavior whatsoever and the education was top class. Religion wasn't pushed down anyones throat, save for a small wooden cross in the main hall that's been there since 1942. It was literally paradise, so things like banning boots or any clothing seems absolutely ridiculous to me. The problem isn't going to go away by banning the item that the stuff is being smuggled in. They would achieve a much better result by unbanning cellphones from classrooms and merely asking them to be put on silent and tucked away in a students bag or in a pocket. If a student absolutely needs to use a cell phone (during class) they should ask for permission to do so. They should remove restrictions on clothing as well. A school is a facility of education and progress, they shouldn't hinder that progress by hindering the ability of their students to mature into responsible adults. Part of that process is being able to make decisions about your body, your clothing and accepting responsibility over your own education.
As if our school system could afford them :v:
Lolno. You gotta' buy it yourself.
