For fuck sake. This is stupid. Violent games do not cause obesity and bullying. I'm pretty sure obesity is caused by lifestyle. Don't feed your kids chips, chips, chips and coke and they wont be fat, no matter how much they play games.
Some form of exercise would be good too...
why
It's true! Just last week I was playing Grand Theft Auto IV, I ate a burger ingame and it went straight to my thighs, then some guys broke in through the window and bullied me for playing violent video games!
Violent video games make me eat fast food!!!
Fourkiller said half of the money would go into a bullying prevention fund and the other half would go to help get kids playing outside.
Oh hey, those problems can be solved almost all the time by parents actually living up to their role as parents (surprise surprise) once in a while.
We, the people, object to this; you are not allowed to push this through.
Only if we get a tax on violent movies, music, books, and every other artistic medium.
I doubt they'd enjoy taxing the bible.
Childhood obesity? Seriously? I want to see the studies done on that.
Yeah really you'd assume when kids reenact gta they'd lose weight while running from cops
I bet they haven't considered that this is yet another excuse for pirating games for a lot of people.
I thought we were passed the Jack Thompson Age of Video Games already?
Why are you people so against this bill? It isn't a whole lot of money per game, and the cause is noble, if not completely retarded. If he proposed putting the money into something else you guys would probably have no problem with it.
I'm gonna bully kids because of this tax.

Now this is really stupid.

Also once again http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NewMediaAreEvil
I find it funny that a guy with the second name 'Fourkiller' is saying this. His name sounds pretty violent to me, perhaps we should tax that too?
I find it funny that a guy with the second name 'Fourkiller' is saying this. His name sounds pretty violent to me, perhaps we should tax that too?
That guy Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster would be required to pay $10000+ in taxes.

Also once again http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NewMediaAreEvil
It doesn't matter where the revenue comes from. Where it's taken out from will always have a bad effect within the consumer base but for what reason. Why is there never any emphasis towards the funding? People just defending a few cents off because video games don't bring in net interest and can't be part of the solution to helping fund that? All being emotionally flustered by articles using words such as violence, bullying and weightloss all at once. Rated games can be apart of an awareness campaign that tries to promote bullying associated with violence. Not problems associated with videogames that are the cause of bullying.
They cant enforce this
WHAT THE FUCK AMERICA

WHAT THE FUCK AMERICA

>One state-level American politician does something stupid >WAT THE FAWK AMERICA. GTFO. >One British prime minister does something stupid >Lol we're still better than 'merica
Okay, so they want to tax games because it makes kids fat and bully other kids... except aren't fat kids getting bullied, and not bullying? Or is the bullying caused by the victim being fat, caused by them playing video games? My brain can't make sense of this.
>One state-level American politician does something stupid >WAT THE FAWK AMERICA. GTFO. >One British prime minister does something stupid >Lol we're still better than 'merica
When has this ever happened.

It's another way for the government to tell you what you ought to be doing with your life.

Tax on every Teen rated game? That's like 85% of games. I hate what people in control are trying do with the world.
Wouldn't taxing fast food joints be a better idea?
Oh come on... Give it a few more years, maybe this "X is evil!" phase will pass over and go away. I mean, it passed for every other medium... right?
It causes obesity? Why am I struggling to gain weight then?
How about we stop companies from shoving fattening crap into their food rather than taxing something that has nothing to do with it.
