They saw the most natural thing in life. In my book, thats an excuse to explain them what they just saw and avoid misconceptions later in life.

Children are stupid and unpredictable.
Pretty much what TestECull said, they are. Seeing shit like that happen spontaneously while just watching tv and being 3-6 would be pretty traumatizing since I'm sure a lot of younger children think it's some holy grail of inappropriateness.

I started fapping at 6, wasn't traumatizing at all I can assure you. Also didn't turn out to be a mass murderer and rapist (well yet at least, maybe the terrible, traumatizing visions of hot lesbian with big tits in my youth will come back and make me into a psychotic killer later in life, but probably not).
It's only as traumatizing as people make it. If the parents freak the fuck out, run screaming around the house while crying, send the kid into therapy for 5 years where he is told about how horrible what he saw was then send him to Jesus Camp I'd imagine it will be quite traumatizing.

This happened before quite a few times, and pretty much 100% of the time when it does, it's a kids show that gets 'accidentally' switched. I'm starting to think it's never an actual accident.
