This won't start a world war. If South Korea invades, or North Korea invades, US will get involved naturally because of our close ties with South Korea. If the war started probably the worst of the fighting would be over after the first month. As Big dumb American stated many times, North Korea doesn't have the economy to sustain a large scale war for very long. China wouldn't dare get involved with this conflict again because economically the last thing they want is to stop trade with the US. Big dumb American also stated that North Korean civilians wouldn't have the will to use gorilla tactics or organize militias etc because almost every one there is starving. And seeing how the Korean peninsula is surrounded by water, expect North Korea to get surrounded very fast.
I'd say the war would last a solid month and a half.
