pictures are like, 4 days late from when they were actually posted on reddit/imgur. but anyways, the guy was banned on the wizards forum and a couple of pro-level magic players called him out on it saying it was fat shaming and portraying the magic community in a bad light. i think the guy is banned from official events now.
my bad; I was aware of this and I didn't see it posted in SH yet so I took the opportunity.

This guy looks exactly like my brother.
May he wipe away our sins.
He's doing God's work. [editline]12th March 2014[/editline] Worst of all, how is it fat shaming when he's fat himself and you don't even see the other guy's face?
This is why I wear shirts a size too big. My glorious crack shall never been seen by another mortal man!
Or you know, wear a shirt that fits you well, looks good and wear a belt.
The funniest ones are where he's taking a knee, it's like he's swearing an oath or something to expose cracks everywhere.
Cracking adventures right there
isn't that card also banned from basically any league tournament or whatever
Yeah, it's also $2,000 from the beta edition. yesss
Yeah, it's also $2,000 from the beta edition. yesss
An Alpha mint condition Black Lotus can sell for upwards of $8000, I know a guy who has been playing since the game came out, and he has 4 in a safe in another state.

His clothes make him look like an orthodox priest and the pose doesn't help either.

It's known as the Bend Test, and it's a special property of MTG cards that, when a card is bent like that, it will always return to its original straightness and the paint will not peel off no matter what. Also, that's not a Beta black lotus, that's an Unlimited black lotus, as seen by the white border.

I am not worthy of the lotus
I was just thinking his pose in every picture looked like something from a rap/hiphop album.
holy fuck i cant stop laughing
It's a damn Magic: The Gathering convention/meetup, no wonder. You think MLP, anime, P&P, and tabletop games have a lot of autists and neckbeards? They all pale in comparison to MTG. [editline]12th March 2014[/editline] They still aren't as neckbeard as me though, fucking casuals.
we host MTG games every friday at my hobbyshop and this guy isn't kidding. but even worse are the 40k gamers. Think of the palest, fattest, neckbeardiest person you can imagine. then multiply it by 10. those are 40k players.
I went to a MtG tournament and didn't like it so I spent 6 hours playing Settlers of Catan with some other guys in the corner. Good times. Not dissing MtG, by the way, I think it's great.
I seem to remember once being at comic book shop in a mall perusing the selection of Walking Dead figures, while some sort of card game tournament was getting underway. I had gotten too close, I suppose, because a lot of the players were looking at me funny and saying stuff like "Are there new people showing up today? That's crazy!" No idea if it was for MTG or something else. Honestly I thought MTG was like the Cod of card games.
mtg itself is a pretty fun, straightforward game, like cawadoody. and like cawadoody, it's ruined by its playerbase.
What I meant by that comparison was moreover that I had the impression everybody played it, not just card-game enthusiasts but also people who don't share other interests within the genre.
this is why I wear long undershirts at all times
this is why I wear long undershirts at all times
the Butt Crack Avenger isn't fooled by such simple trickery; he's kind of like the Butt Batman. He'll stalk you, wait, watch, and listen for the golden moment in which your crack will be exposed. He sees sort of like the Focus power in the game Thief. When the time is right...

Quite an interesting overall hole experience.
Quite an interesting overall hole experience.
You might even call him... a hole-y man.
You might even call him... a hole-y man.
Couldn't even crack a smirk at that one
isn't that card also banned from basically any league tournament or whatever
You can run 1 in vintage, but vintage is a terrible terrible format full of turn 1 wins that basically requires you to be playing cards like Black Lotus to even compete, and has very few tournaments cause of it's small playerbase. It's either banned our outside the card pool for every other format [editline]14th March 2014[/editline]
It's a damn Magic: The Gathering convention/meetup, no wonder. I actually stopped going to mtg events cause the lack of personal hygiene on display is sickening
It's like when you pop open one of those cans of biscuits and some of the slack dough bulges out...
MtG is an expensive hobby. I miss it, but i'm very glad with all the money i'm not spending on it anymore :v:
this is why I wear long undershirts at all times
I just wear fitting pants and a belt...
