Anything dealing with the defense of this "great" country is never wasteful. Also, Virginia is predominantly Democrat. The Democrats are throwing their OWN FUCKING STATE under the bus.
Virginia? Democratic? I'm from Virginia and I don't see men in business suits drinking Starbucks on every corner. The stereotype is that we're Republican, this state has voted for Republican presidents for 50 years until Obama.

Actually, Republicans and Democrats currently in congress all agree on one thing 100%. Sad thing is, it has nothing to do with America itself.
This is gonna suck. Contracting is a huge industry in Virginia, we have all sorts of contracting jobs in the State be they technological, military, construction, engineering etc. This is really gonna mess with the state economy. I appreciate the fact that they want to cut spending but couldn't they do it somewhere else? I mean it's already hard enough to find a job around here, how is it gonna be when the people who had them don't anymore? I understand this is high end, contracting government employment but still the employment ratings in Virginia are already bad as it is, we don't need more shit piled on top of it.
Actually, some of the wealthiest congressmen are Dems...
They all have too much money. If they've been elected they have too much money, that means they had ridiculious amounts of money to spend on campaigning. Do you see any average Joes in Congress, either side? No you don't because politicians have become a new class. I for one am tired of all these career politicians claiming to be in touch with their constituents.
This is an outrage, now how am I supposed to pay off the head of my two story solid gold statue in my backyard!
All Congressman are wealthy.
Which kinda negates the point of a government representative of the populace, dontcha think?
Republicans are mad because their opponents thought of something that they were supposed to do.
Which kinda negates the point of a government representative of the populace, dontcha think?
A lot of congressmen are being fed by self-interest groups. They basically have their wallets stuffed if they vote with or against their payer.

I can imagine this practically killing the city but I can't be sure. There's so much business here from soldiers it's astounding. Everywhere you go you see someone in the military. Driving home I always see the big military warships, and usually an aircraft carrier or two. I hope this doesn't turn Norfolk in to a ghost town, especially when everything seems to be going so well.
I think the whole political game would be a lot more balanced and diverse if political advertising was strictly forbidden.
As every political party will do to their rival. Welcome to U.S. politics.
I envy Brits and their political parties so much.
Which kinda negates the point of a government representative of the populace, dontcha think?
Take it up with congress.
Why does it seem like the parties in the US only cares if they hold the power, otherwise shit on the other parties? Not that I know anything about US politics, but it just seems retarded.

Where I live there's lots of liberals and only a small amount of conservatives, and the last two governors were democratic, as well as both senators and the majority of congressmen. So I'd say we're a Democratic state.
Good, we waste enough money on military contracts. Put some of it in the space program dammit
Did you not read? we're trying to CUT wasteful spending
We should abolish all political parties.
Nah, but the party name shouldn't be written on the ballot. (For you Americans, anyway) Wouldn't really work in Canada since we vote for the party to represent us in our riding, not the prime minister
