i don't care about specific nationalities. the british can go fuck themselves for all i care. if you want to reduce the unemployment rate then i think the government should take some serious consideration into expanding the public sector, while encouraging competition in the private. there's no easy answer, but capping immigration will have devastating effects.
Yeah public sector expansion would be v.cool if they do it this term they might even stay in power, I doubt both of those things though

It doesn't matter about nationalities at all, I'm concerned with the unemployment rate in Britain - specifically because the benefits they receive come out of the taxes that I pay.
Expanding the public sector to accommodate so many people would be dangerous to say the least, especially considering the ballooning public debt and without a clear direction of where those people will be utilised and serving the public. The best thing the government could do to encourage the private sector would be to provide the conditions for modern business; high speed internet, suitable transport links, encouragement for external investors - of course none of which they will actually do.

well that's a debate for another thread, all i'm saying is that capping immigration is a really bad idea. there are other ways to solve unemployment of the 'british', that don't involve crippling the economy.
Indeed it is, a report came out not too long ago with 2 ministers saying that The Thick of It, isn't far from what really happens, oh how I smiled and skipped and sang that day, that show is my most watched on Netflix, also just to derail (:>) Favorite episode?
Not to condone derailment, but mine's the party conference episode. Or maybe the Goolding inquiry one.
Stop fucking arguing with them. Facepunch has different mentality and tho a lot of people disagree with the stuff said here they just don't post about it (case and point: this section is huge gun nut circlejerk).
The best thing you can do is just forget talking about it on FP and move on.
The one problem I have is that people here act like they have higher ground yet they've prob. never seen eastern/southern European gypsy before. Like it or not, immigrants can have a negative effect on a country ( for example http://cofcc.org/2011/02/immigration-turns-sweden-into-rape-capitol-of-europe/, or for the strawmans who are nitpicky about the source and can't open Google themselves read below ).
The one where they're interviewed on the radio show, it's just got so many good moments.

This rediculous campaign is doing nothing but alienating and upsetting the bulgarians who might legitimately have something to offer to the UK.
I've met quite a few bulgarians and romainians during university and they were all very well educated and meaning to support themselves. My ex girlfriend (bulgarian) worked on weekends to cover her accomidation cost, while doing architecture (notoriously difficult degree).
Despite what you all think most bulgarians are not gypsies, gypsies are a relitivly small part of society seperated both culturally and ethnically, often living outside of the cities in their own settlements.
I should think that most of you have never met a bulgarian/romainian person in your life. This campaign won't stop people from coming here but once they arrived they'll have to put up with the prejudice from racist idiots who believe everything the media tells them.
I am british, born in the uk and I think it is appauling that in our "multicultural" and "diverse" society we should brand these people as "copper stealing" it is a really fucking primative opinion.
About time someone did something about that moronic campaign.
