Blackburn here :v:
I like how you guys are talking about jobs. The ones who will come to Britain (gypsies), I assure you, will not be looking for jobs. The Romanians that had any interest to work in Britain are already there, it's easier for us to go to Spain or Italy for work since we're a latin country and understand the language. They'll come to take all the state benefits and beg for shitloads of money, just so they can go back to Romania and build their huge-ass mansions that are ugly as fuck. Idk about Bulgarians tho.
I wouldn't say the North is massively worse off for jobs. Now, Northern Ireland on the other hand...
I live in one of the 2% areas and it is impossible to find a job. That graph is bullshit.
I love it here in northern ireland, don't plan on moving any time soon

But if you do not work, you must be able to support yourself and your family in the UK without becoming an unreasonable burden on public funds.
[editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
I live in one of the 2% areas and it is impossible to find a job. That graph is bullshit.
I live in a similar area (way down south though), and my old man can't get a job either. The majority of the populace can though (although there is some playing with figures - I don't think students count towards the unemployed, as do some other groups of people).
Well, as the UK Border Agency says about European nationals:
Well, then be prepared to have slums with houses made up of garbage appear at London's peripheries and lots of gypsy women on the streets with babies in their hands begging, and lots of little kids forced by their parents to go all day through the city and beg. They will find ways to make money, be sure of that. Maybe they'll even go to the rural areas and start stealing copper from the wires and metal from the train tracks. They're used to that, that's why the railway infrastructure in Romania is so shit.
I've lived in two sunny and laid back countries and I'd seriously love to live in a place like the UK. I guess humans are very nonconformist.
Grass always seems greener on the other side ;)

I plan to move out of the UK, not because its a bad country, theres far worse countries. I just want to experience living somewhere else.
Its almost funny how racist you are.
Racist? I deal with them every day, that's how they are.
You used to go to the UK from Europe to give your family a better chance, now not so much. The politicians are dumber than average and generally everything is too expensive.
Best tory decision 2013
I welcome this campaign. I do get tired of people coming to Britain then bitching about how shit it is. I could have told them that for free. I'm used to it though, and I like it. Rarely will you find anyone in Britain who says where they're living is nice. Same about their friends, cars, houses, cities and pretty much anything else.
am i the only one who actually enjoys the rain? it's not as bad as people make it out to be
I actually love the Rain, I was wanting to move to Britain.
Living in the nice south isn't that bad. Jack shit to do but whatever.
http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Basildon I don't live in that town but the article above sums up my surrounding area pretty damn well.
The most frequently used language is the Essex Grunt. It is distinguished from most other languages used around the world in having no actual words. The grunt expresses the universal Basildon attitude of aggression and confrontation. Many Basildon citizens have tried to progress to Estuary but their limited brianpower has not enabled the transition to happen. Strangely the phrase "harzin benefit" can often be heard through the grunts. Estuary is widely used in the stretch from Barking (Barkin) to Southend (Saafend). Some Estuary words are derivations of English. Examples are "Wossupwivyou" meaning How Are You Today Sir and "Well?" meaning "How can I help you". Others are based on expletives such as F***off which is used as a general term of greeting. Local areas of the Town also have special pronunciations. Thus - Vaaaaaaaage Tarn-Center Nevermain. Special Warning - Basildon residents have a particular way of appreciating it if you point out the shortcomings in the way they speak. It will result in a visit to Basildon Hospital's A&E Department - a place where they have taken waiting times to a real art form. Some other Basildon words and their meanings are:- Cha - translates to watch-ya, a form of hello. Rite - translates to "all right?" a form of hello. Wassupwivyou - Tranlates to "what is up with you", a form of hello. Anyfingelse - Translates to "Anything else?", a form of goodby Slater - Translates to "see you later", a form of goodby (nothing to do with actually seeing you later) Sonyoumate - Translates to "it's on you mate" a polite request for you to buy the next round of drinks Yougottabejokinmate - "You've got to be joking mate" A response to any request for anything Djanowhatimeen? - "Did you know what I meant?" a reassurance of understanding I ain't never done nuffin - "I haven't done anything", usually used by a Basildonian when addressing a member of Her Majesty's Constabulary 20pforfoneblood? - "have you got 20 pence for the phone please mate" your about to get mugged Ear Trace ya garin daann taaan? - "Excuse my rude interruption in your daily duties Tracey, are you going down to the Town?"
Especially this bit.
I wouldn't want to live there, but I'll happily take some of your food chains.
Come to Australia, after Australia Day we are low on foreigners to beat up
lol it's pretty good here, can't complain could be better but you could say that about anywhere [editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
Alright, I'll stay away then. Or, I could come over the ocean and help bring my ideals and such into your country. Really, it works either way.
please don't
Being non-British but always having wanted to move there, how bad is York and the area? Would I be likely to get shanked or end up stealing food because there are no jobs?
That's just fucking outrageous.
You're telling me. Theres nothing up here. All the bloody industry is down in the South where all the focus is, everything up North either flat out closed or moved South. There's a reason why the majority of the people where I live are white, probably partly to do with all the racist scum up here, but also there just isn't anything worth doing. [editline]28th January 2013[/editline]
Being non-British but always having wanted to move there, how bad is York and the area? The North just gets a bad reputation for all the Toxteth riots and stuff like that but that rarely happens now. Recently Liverpool was declared one of Britain's safest cities so clearly the North is getting better.
I wouldn't say the North is massively worse off for jobs. Now, Northern Ireland on the other hand...
The problem there with northern Ireland is that it's connected to the rest of Ireland, and our unemployment is contagious.

Being a bit cynical and moany is what we do best - most of us are perfectly happy. Most of the north is lovely, there are a few grotty urban centres but those are all over the country. Same thing goes for Canada, but Canada 10x more boring and even shittier weather
Living in the nice south isn't that bad. Jack shit to do but whatever.
Can people qualify what they mean by 'nothing to do'? You have all the amenities of a first world nation at your disposal, what are you missing out on? If you live in a tiny village I guess it's understandable though.
Hey I'm just going on the fact there were literally about 5 or 6 none white kids at my school of around 1,200. Hell I think we only have about 3 black kids here altogether at the moment, a real step up from the last 3 years single black person. Oh and the half turkish guy in our year who got told to "go back to your own country" by some chavs on bikes, despite the fact he was born here and his mums scottish, but then they're chavs so its not like they have brains to reason with.

Now I'm at uni the balance has changed again. Then again I do live in Birmingham but I could walk around my local area for a week and not see a black person.
But Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow are all in the north. :v:
Glasgow's hardly a dump, it's a great city.

It's hilarious tho how they support them while they're in our countries while they make a 180 degree change once it's about their countries.
