Haven't purchased a Nokia after I heard what they were going to do with the factory in my hometown. But it's not because of that, it's because I don't like their OS anymore. I hate Windows Phone, MeeGo is basically dead and Symbian can go fuck itself.
Past-E63 bro's, the battery life was amazing, I charged mine every saturday :v:
Mines essentially an MP3 player now. The standby time in offline mode is like 2-3 weeks.
They still go through the same drop tests, and they still pass them. They're still of excellent quality.
I'm not so convinced with that. The high end phones are excellent quality, but mid and low range phones arent. My family had two X3-02's and both lost their "screen off"-button within a few months and others screen stopped working for no reason. Same happened to my sisters nokia before that, and I had some nokias music phone, worked okay but the whole frame (where the plastic covers attach) broke in pieces in 8 months and it was unusable. My sister bought a mid range lumia a few months ago, and it was sent back when it stopped responding. She got a new one and and some button has stopped working already. I'm not buying nokia anymore, that's for sure. The older ones were tnt-proof though. I still use my 5510 from 2001 as a secondary phone when my zte runs out of fuel.
I've had my current Nokia phone on me for five years and counting. It survived through military service with me. The screen is so thoroughly scratched that it's now probably half its original thickness. Dropping it onto the floor is nothing. It's been dropped into mud, stepped on and it's fallen from a moving vehicle. I've used it as a flashlight while chopping firewood during a freezing winter night, in temperatures around -30 degrees Celsius, and used it in a sauna to call a friend for more booze. Not once has it complained or refused to work. The one, and probably only, time I bought a phone that wasn't made by Nokia, it didn't last 6 months of normal use.
Dropped my nokia in a drift of snow two winters ago and didn't find it until 3 days later. It still had power. Still using it to this day.
My 3310 has taken the usual beatings - dropped on the ground 5 trillion times, come out of my pocket while speeding downhill on my bike and has been dropped from the 3rd or 4th floor of a multistory carpark. It's also been through the wash (several times), been submerged in a swimming pool, and, most impressively of all I dropped it into a blazing bonfire while I was drunk (and it stayed buried in the hot ashes all night until I could find it the next day). That phone still works like a fucking champion. The 3310 is a mighty thing.
My friend was getting a new phone so he saw how much punishment his Nokia could take. He threw it against the wall at least 30 times. No problems.
my, like, dearest item ever was a nokia 5800 that I lost half a year ago when I was drunk been sad for it ever since had it for years.

I tend to somehow lose the batteries out of my phone from a night on the piss. Wake up the next day and figuring out why my phone won't turn on is always entertaining.
I'm carrying a Nokia atm. One of their older flip models.
Shower me with boxes, Nokia fanboys. Your precious company is in deep shit. They shouldn't have go with Windows Phone. And I can bet my ass that they would be doing great if they would move to Android.
I think windows phone was the best market for them to enter in, Microsoft gave them a good deal to use more of the Source Code than HTC or Samsung. Android is just laggy and plus Nokia may of had an idea for it but just didn't like it enough, Windows Phone is better than Android
ngage for life

I had dropbox but moved to skydrive when they had a 25gb promotion, and I find skydrive easier to use [editline]5th September 2012[/editline]
is it true that windows mobile still doesn't have dropbox? the lack of super common, core 3rd party apps and that MS blocks alternative web browsers is a big turn off for me but i really want a win8 nokia phone
There's a good amount of 3rd party apps to enjoy the phone, also I did have concerns about not being able to switch browsers but IE works perfectly fine imo, everything is fast and simple
I'm ditching my iPhone 4S in November for a Nokia Windows phone. <3
