Han Solo as a commander of the republic? What the fuck?
Han Solo as a commander of the republic? What the fuck?
To be fair to abrams and the writers, if George Lucas had full control of this new trilogy then it would either be a new character that is as terrible as jar-jar or someone nobody gives a damn about Although i never really got how han was a general in ROTJ, he didn't act like he was in control of anything and it never got explained how he even got promoted up to that rank
This is the first movie that I am cautiously interested in in a good long while. For all the people talking about Kyle Katarn not having anything to do with the non EU, don't you remember that [sp]he apparently is the whole reason the Rebels had the Death Star plans in A New Hope as the first mission of Dark Forces has you stealing them, if I recall correctly[/sp].
He literally got struck in the jetpack by a man who couldn't see, flew across the screen flailing and fell right into the Sarlacc. Badass.
That's one of my favorite things about Boba honestly. He's obviously some sort of bad ass judging by how beat his armor is and the whole wookie braid thing, then he dies like a punk bitch.
The fuck's wrong with jango?
He's a cool character but he only gets storytime in EU comics/Games/Novels and other stuff Honestly in the movies he just seems to be there and even in ROTJ he just seems like a random character that gets thrown into the sarlacc If 1313 ever comes out and it turns out great then maybe people will treat him as an awesome character but until then he's just a pretty cool bounty hunter with a jetpack Oh yeah and there's the rumored Boba Fett SpinOff movie supposedly coming out in a few years sooo....
Also evidenced by the re-releases because George didn't have all Stormtroopers dubbed with Australian accents. :v:
NEW ZEALAND
Fuck Rosh, By the way.
"Aren't you excited were going to be JEDI!"
Critical talk of the Force and the two clashing sides' views conflicting? Probably not, but one can dream.
But imagine delta squad using electric wheelchairs rappelling up a building, then one of the commando's Alzheimer's kicks in and the other clones have to try and make him remember what he's doing... Episode 7 would be worth it just for that one scene
My fucking sides Somebody needs to make this
I really do hope they bring in Thrawn and Pellaeon at some point, they're the absolute best thing about the EU. Hell, the novels they're in are in many ways better than the original trilogy.
Critical talk of the Force and the two clashing sides' views conflicting? Probably not, but one can dream.
I doubt the KOTOR 2 situation will ever happen again.
Wait, Queen regent of the Republic?? This better be a fucking rumour
is scheduled for May 4th.
CHEEKY
As much as I hate this in theory, I also don't want to see old Harrison Ford reprise his cocky smuggler persona, so some kind of army general type would be fitting for him.
He got more and more leader-y as the original trilogy went on, so it sort of makes sense. It's how his character progressed
At this stage, I'm more interested to find out what became of storm/clonetroopers. Never the less, I am very excited.
The main villain will be Jar Jar Binks.
The worst part of the star wars movies was the jedi crap. Give me gritty, semi-believable sci-fi with an absurd amount of CGI and a paper thin plot please.
The worst part of the star wars movies was the jedi crap.
hey now lightsabers are pretty cool
hey now lightsabers are pretty cool
Give clone commandos lightsabers. Jedi are now obsolete, write them out please.
Give clone commandos lightsabers.
almost happened in Republic Commando one more reason why that game rules
Really? What was the context for this, it sounds awesome.
well, by "almost happened", i meant that while exploring the 'derelict' Republic assault ship Boss comes across a lightsaber in a vent shaft next to a clone trooper corpse, gives a snarky remark about how elegant weapons for more civilised ages have no place in a grimdark war, and moves on. for all we know that thing could have been functional and usable

the jedi should have just dressed up as clone troopers, helmets and everything
the jedi should have just dressed up as clone troopers, helmets and everything
Because of how armour works in SWTOR, you can dress a jedi up in full trooper armour, I've done that
Give clone commandos lightsabers. Jedi are now obsolete, write them out please.
Jedi have always been obsolete save for the things you don't see them doing very often but which form the only logical reason why the order exists and is revered. You never see them use battle meditation in any of the official shit, but that's genuinely the only thing they can do without being Mary Sues that makes them an asset. The franchise is a jedi-centric wank-fest though, and so everything has to obsess on those lame duck monks and they need to get CGI super-powers to make up for it.
One thing I've come to realize about Star Wars is that it's not a sci-fi movie, it's a fantasy IN SPACE movie. Replace the Force with magic and it's now fantasy. Jedis are the most famous and notable part of the Star Wars franchise. It's always about the Jedis.

And then you find out that jedi can't normally block conventional projectiles, shotguns, flamethrowers, or explosives since they don't ever train in the appropriate disciplines. A sniper can very easily drop a jedi. It's why in the movies, even when characters have the appropriate gear, they never use it. Because it would point out how horribly shit jedi actually are.
What? The first movie had Luke using the force to perfectly time a bomb and one single super slow lightsaber fight. It's always been Jedi centric but in the OT they were more than cuckoo acrobats who fight all the time and refuse to use guns. Honestly I wouldn't mind if this new trilogy better addresses how the Jedi totally lost their way in the prequels and became militaristic political pawns, and that was their real downfall not Palpatine.
Give clone commandos lightsabers. Jedi are now obsolete, write them out please.
I bet you're the kind of person that liked Midichlorians.
The worst part of the star wars movies was the jedi crap. I think the next Star Wars should be a psychological thriller set in Victorian era Italy.
