loving how the word 'pedophilia' gets thrown around here like a hot potato
it reminds me of 4chan's habit of completely changing the definition of words like 'autism' and using them whenever convenient

15 is nowhere near prepubescent, retards
being attracted to something with an ass and tits as a male is perfectly normal as well
manipulating them into sleeping with you, as was done in the OP, is not - THIS is what he should be primarily judged for
While being in a position of power over them no less.
imagine a completely straight-laced unabusive relationship with someone who's half your size, maturity, experience, knowledge, physical strength and maybe even credibility. no rapey undertones or potential for domestic violence there!!
Being attracted to underage teenagers is normal, you heard it here folks
???
Yes, your dick reacting to a person who looks sexually mature is normal
Listen dude, humans are animals, your mind and morals come second whether you want it or not
you're really keen on the whole "purposefully misinterpreting people to further your own argument" thing aren't you
he never said EVERY 15 year old is unaware of the consequences but of course you know that
Well, they've made it clear later.
But my argument was that as long as there's at least some 15 year olds who can give informed consent to sex, there shouldn't be a law prohibiting it.
And the way you'd disagree with that is by either saying that there should still be a law against it or that no 15 year old is capable of consenting.
And Ownederd kept on with the "15 year olds can't consent" route.
define actual power
As I said, he was their dance coach. They could have left.
Not a school teacher or a parent (or even a neighbour or relative) who you can't get away from.
-snip tangent comment not required-
For those of you who might've been confused in my previous post on the front page here's what I meant by my post: as long as both parties KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING and KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES of what they're doing, then it's fine in my books. But if the younger party (that's under the AoC by like 1 year) is uninformed on both points I stated, then it's definitely not ok.

I guess next thing I'll be told is that incest is normal and that it's completely fine to feel attracted to one's siblings? Because you know, we're animals, yeah?

i think any responsible and functional human being can act like a normal adult most of the time unless if they need actual help or something. where did u get this argument from
But my argument was that as long as there's at least some 15 year olds who can give informed consent to sex, there shouldn't be a law prohibiting it.

That's nonsense. A minority should not regulate law. Just because there are special cases does not mean entire law should be abolished. Maybe you can drive a car or shoot a gun perfectly and know all the safety regulations at 10 years old, doesn't mean every 10 year old will now be able to get a license.

While it's not exactly normal, like pedophilia or homosexuality, I don't see why it should be illegal if both are consenting adults.
calling someone a crybaby does not help your point either
It was a tangent comment I made on par with my point on his posting
Edit:
Wait that was worded weirdly

jesus christ
While it's not exactly normal, like pedophilia or homosexuality, I don't see why it should be illegal.
it's illegal because those laws are meant to protect people
and did you just say that being homosexual is not normal lmao

Do animals fuck their relatives? Sounds like a poor way to evolve your species.

If they would have to leave because of someone that person clearly holds power over them.

yeah fifteen year old girls could TOTALLY not lose control to this grown man because there is most certainly no potential for abuse of power in this situation AT ALL. check out how impossible it would be for this fully grown man who's got almost ten years on them to insert himself into a grossly lopsided position of power!
I guess next thing I'll be told is that incest is normal and that it's completely fine to feel attracted to one's siblings? Because you know, we're animals, yeah?
Why bring incest into this in the first place?
Consensual sex between two adults is fine, siblings or otherwise, making children in the process is obviously not.
i think any responsible and functional human being can act like a normal adult most of the time unless if they need actual help or something. where did u get this argument from
What are you even talking about?
I was saying that on a biological level, being attracted to anybody who has gone through puberty is normal
if you're not attracted to them then it's purely your morals getting in the way

physically cannot restrain myself from this thirteen year old girl who hasn't even finished her SATs yet because she technically has an ass (which i noticed because i regularly check to see if it's there). my arbitrary morality is dissolving before my very eyes with the rising heft of my boner for things that remind me of sex

What I'm suggesting is that these things should be treated on a case by case basis.
Prosecuting someone for having sex with a teenager who was obviously able to take responsibility in it is unjust, as is ignoring it when someone exploits an obviously immature one.
A coach is no different from a teacher or a neighbor. How can you not get away from them?
As an adult, sure. As a teen, you'll find it rather difficult to switch schools, let alone move, especially if you don't really want to tell anyone why.
it's illegal because those laws are meant to protect people

Homosexuality isn't normal. And before you accuse me of homophobia, I'm bisexual myself.
"Abnormal" doesn't and shouldn't mean "wrong".
If they would have to leave because of someone that person clearly holds power over them.
Leave their dance group or whatever for a different one. What's the big deal?
In any case, a sports coach isn't so intimidating as that you couldn't report them.
what the fuck lmao
ok? homosexuality has been observed among flies and monkeys and it's not something u choose to have one day - u are either gay or u aren't. and it isn't really comparable to pedophilia because homosexuality normally involves two consenting parties
A lot of shady things can happen in that case. How about we just don't fuck 15 year olds?
Why wouldn't you want to tell anyone if your teacher/neighbor/whatever wants to touch you bad? Not to mention in most cases you'd have to explain to your parents why you left/switched your coach. If anything we should encourage people to report abuse instead of running away from it.

And do you disagree with the opposite? That as long as there are 15 year olds who are not aware of the consequences, who can't make an informed decision and may end up in abusive relationships or emotionally scarred, there SHOULD be a law, regardless of the fact that there may be a few 15yo's out there who could consent?
Would you really risk the emotional and physical well-being of millions of teenagers out there just because some of them may actually be mature enough to know what they're getting into?
