fixed
other women just tell them to fuck off
The ideal figure to me is slim and lean, with petite secondary sexual features.
Obviously this new line is a testing phase before they ship to Africa.
That makes me wonder what Ethiopian cuisine tastes like.
Oxygen mixed with hydrogen. It's a mild taste.
sorry to burst your bubble but that's not "healthy"
Sorry to burst your bubble, but yeah it is.
She's a far cry from an anorexic model
I wonder what happened to the time when society enjoyed the look of plump women.
That was around the time everybody stopped being stick-thin and close to death.
If you were pale, that meant that you were rich enough to have other people go outside for you. If you were chubby, then you could actually afford to eat.
It's all about how difficult it is to maintain.
Edit:
Oh damn I'm late.
this post
is part of the problem
Ye no it's not. Have you ever seen female athletes in a high intensity sport? They tend to be leaner and more defined than the average women.
This is what I was talking about earlier when people take this issue too far in the opposite direction, "you have muscle definition on your stomach, you must be a victim of media influence!!! If you don't want to look like this thickset chick, you have distorted body image problems!!"

I agree, things have gone a bit in the opposite direction than intended.
Damn it, can't we all just enjoy normal-looking women anymore without being misogynists? I enjoy several different kinds of women each day. You must learn from my god-like example!

Well historically that was true, as you can see from a lot of older paintings etc... the beautiful female was always portrayed as what can be described as "chubby" these days. It was a social phenomenon, since in those days being fat/chubby/whatever meant that you ate well and being able to eat well was equal to being rich, so people were drawn to chubbier women who were rich/had means to eat well and get fat and that was a big attraction, of course that translated into plump being considered beautiful.
With easier/cheaper access to food, starting with the industrial revolution I think, being chubby was no longer a distinction between poor and rich, and slowly the concept of plump as beautiful faded.

And the paleness wasn't just because the painters had really shitty and old paint; it was because it meant you didn't have to leave your luxurious home to tend to your farm, or go to work. You had other people to do that for you!

This sculpture represents something the greeks held as beauty, yet to some of you guys in this thread if she were real she would be considered having a body image problem.
Well I would imagine she had a body image problem if she chopped her arms off.

To be honest your post doesn't answer or refute anything I stated in my post, I was just making a statement. However since you brought it up, I bring some examples as well:
These are the idealized/sensual/sexy women of Renaissance era art.

The point is these were idealized/eroticised paintings as well, because even back then sex sold. Each era/generation has its own definition of beauty and that beauty is usually unattainable by the general population, which is what makes it beautiful in the first place, though things sometimes do get out of hand, as in the case of anorexic and skeleton like models.
Hm. Nice to know that because I'm skinny I'm considered unattractive. Perhaps the reason a lot of women are so fucked up in the head about their weight is because they're considered either too fat or too skinny. There's no in between and so they take it to extremes.

If both extremes were considered bad, then why the fuck do they default to them?

I don't know. Attention maybe?

Because marketers manipulate social standards.
Because marketers manipulate social standards.
But they know it's bad, since that's somehow the reason they've gone into one of the extremes.
But they know it's bad, since that's somehow the reason they've gone into one of the extremes.
Uh they go into extremes because they're taught that is what they need to do to be socially acceptable
Uh they go into extremes because they're taught that is what they need to do to be socially acceptable
But why did it start in the first place if everybody knew it was bad?
It isn't sexy, it isn't smart, and isn't healthy.

Are you asking why the existence of attractive people was exploited by a greedy marketing man, or why insecure and young boys and girls aren't aware that they don't need to conform to what that greedy marketing man was showing them?
The first was because he realized that attractive people bring attention to your products, especially if they're cosmetic, the second is basically a social problem, parents need to teach their kids to have a positive body image and society needs to support that view

I love how she doesn't give a fuck about the volcano erupting.
Also why is that article saying that anoerixa is a disease when it's an mental illness(or if you prefer in layman terms; an eating disorder).

What I'm asking is, who thought it was attractive first? Before all the marketing, there must have been someone who made the execs thing that anorexia is cool, or else it wouldn't have become popular enough to be exploited by corporations like GAP.
