My dads a film unit driver on this at the moment. They were filming in Devon the other day, on some kind of hospital/war ship.
This news has put me in a bad mood.
Release date: December 21st 2012. Applicable date, eh?

Wait, really? Hope yet remains.
There was a scene like that in the book, one of the most important ones. The UN meeting regarding humanity going on the offensive.
They're filming this for the next week or so in Glasgow (my hometown) I'm in the city centre tomorrow, gonna go check it out. They're filming 2 car crashes so it could be cool.
clever. filming the locals should save money on all the make up they'd need for the extras
there's the simple fact that there are no sprinters in World War Z
I don't know about that. The chapter with the guard watching over the large mansion when it is overrun, and the one with the kids in the slum sure sounded like it had runners in it.

Those were civilians escaping to safety.
Also, calling it now: The leader chick from the battle of Avalon either doesn't appear or is a supermodel.
Watchmen didn't fuck up the movie, it did fine.
For every Watchmen there are 5 Daredevils.

The mansion wasn't overrun by zombies, it was people that heard it was safe.
According to the Wikipedia page, the script in 2008 was actually the plot of the book.
An early script was leaked onto the internet in 2008. Ain't It Cool News reviewed the script in March 2008, and said "This isn't just a good adaptation of a difficult book... it's a genre-defining piece of work that could well see us all arguing about whether or not a zombie movie qualifies as 'Best Picture' material".[17] The review also noted the film appears stylistically similar to Children of Men.[17] According to Ain't It Cool News, the film follows Gerry Lane as he travels the post-war world and interviews survivors of the zombie war who are "starting to wonder if survival is a victory of any kind." One of the first interviews is with Dr. Tsai, the first to encounter the zombies.[17]
Since it was leaked, they must have been like "OH GOD THEY KNOW THE PLOT MUST CHANGE SO THAT THEY DON'T SPOIL IT FOR THEMSELVES".

They were filming it today mate, walked past Georgie square on my way down to slaters.
They were trying to turn the place into Philadelphia... Don't know why they didn't just... you know. Film it in Philadelphia.
It sounds better than the book, just looking at the plot on wikipedia and it sounds fucking stupid like derp these zombie can now somehow survive walking on the fucking ocean floor to cross the world oh and let's form a giant ass line across America and start walking across some mountains.
There's your problem buddy.
I saw the title and instantly felt the strong sensation of not giving a fuck washing over me.
I never saw the fascination some of you diehard fanboys have with Brook's shit, it's pretty generic.
Obviously the sensation wasn't strong enough if you felt like you had to waste your precious time posting in this thread.

Why Hollywood. Enough people have read the book, people won't be happy with this. What the fuck are you doing with World War Z?

Zombies walk across the ocean floor because they're not affected by the need for oxygen, granted the pressure at deeper levels would crush any zombie down there, but it was largely on a basis of ships going off-shore, being overrun by reanimated crew, them falling out and stumbling back to shore. They didn't cross the Pacific or the Atlantic.
And the last plan worked, they swept the US methodically, playing Iron Maiden.
Edit: Oh god my Automerge
Shaun of the dead will be in my heart forever, fuck generic zombie movies.

There is a section near the end where Max interviews one of the people hunting down zombies at the bottom of the ocean. A note is made of how its utterly impossible, so don't expect a retarded "science" explanation.

Forgot that bit, reminds me of the scene in "For your Eyes Only" on the sunken ship.

Wait what? How can the plot based on a book be spoiled when the book has been released for a while now?
I was thinking they could cut between the scenes of interviews between action scenes, using that as a point to define the seriousness of the situation, can't really explain it very well but... now it's just gonna be stupid fucking LOL BOOM BOOM PEW PEW ZOMBIE MOVIE YEAH.
Why can't fucking Hollywood take the sticks out their asses and the pacifiers out of their mouths and stop doing this stupid cookie-cutter movie genre that they think appeals to fucking everybody? Fucking why? I was looking forward to this movie, you bastards.
Man, I thought it was originally going to be them starting interviews, and like flashbacks or something of that sort.
Man I was hoping Henry Rollins would be in it. He did the voice of the mercenary on the Audiobook... son of a bitch :suicide:
Man this makes me so sad I can't even feel angry anymore
I hope they didnt cut the part with the Submarine. That was cool to read.
And the last plan worked, they swept the US methodically, playing Iron Maiden.
The entire Battle of Hope would have been an awesome sight to see, especially with The Trooper going on in the background.
To be honest, bad zombie movies are usually still pretty good. I think it's because zombie movies are rooted in B-movies with sub-par plots. Even the original Of The Dead films are fairly low quality if you think about it.

Where's that one image of Mr T explaining why the body needs oxygen for muscle movement?
