'World War Z is going to be PG-13' It hurts to think that.
I'm quite disappointed. It's kind of weird too, because there was a surprising amount of action in it for a book about interviews taking place after the zombies leave. Like that Internet kid who's attacked by zombies in his house, rappels down his apartment building with a few sheets, finds an Imperial Officer's sword, and kills his way out of Japan/China (I forget which). Or that pilot, who's ejected out of her AC-130, and lands in Zombie-infested marshes. Hell, the Battle of Yonkers was probably one of the best bits of the book, for me at least. Amazing scenery, intense and realistic action, and utter horror as humanity is fucked over for the last time. Edit:
Wait, really? Hope yet remains. There was a scene like that in the book, one of the most important ones. The UN meeting regarding humanity going on the offensive.
Ironically, it'll probably turn into exactly what the guy who described the scene (forget his name) thought would happen if it was an American movie after the President makes his speech. He says something like "If this were a movie, some guy would slowly start clapping, then another guy would start, and then they'd all be clapping, and they'd show a tear rolling down some guy's face or something." It'll be pretty funny if they actually go with what happened in the book (everybody starts bickering and arguing and ignore what the President said, for those who haven't read it and need a testicle removed for not doing so).
At least there'll be a 28 Months Later
Oh shit, they're going to make another sequel? I need to place my bets on which country will get totally fucked this time. England's out, France is a possibility...
Oh shit, they're going to make another sequel? I need to place my bets on which country will get totally fucked this time. England's out, France is a possibility...
France is confirmed, check the end of 28 weeks.
At least there'll be a 28 Months Later
If it's anything like 28 Weeks I will be disappointed.
France is confirmed, check the end of 28 weeks.
Please tell me they have silly accents.
Here you go.
Thanks babes.
I think a really good video game would be some kind of post-apocolyptic zombie wasteland open world RPG. Kinda like fallout but less centralised around one plot and way harder with better graphics.
if you can make a game harder than fallout 2 that isn't bullshit artificial difficulty, bravo
Fallout 2 isn't hard Navarro, APA, San Francisco, Gauss Rifle. There, game is easymode now.
Save on every map square, baby
Zombies? I'll buy that. Zombies that don't strictly adhere to medical science? HOLD THE FUCK UP.
Well don't worry, fast zombie are accepted more because they're still alive, and we all know it's realistic for a virus to take effect within 30 seconds, ie Rage Virus. Incubation period? What the fuck is that heathen bullshit? And forget all that dehydration bullshit, they can withstand it because they're "angry". /more fast zombie hate because they suck eggs ...Naw but seriously I really do hate them. If the World War Z film has sprinters I will seriously just...cry, probably.
Wait, really? Hope yet remains. There was a scene like that in the book, one of the most important ones. The UN meeting regarding humanity going on the offensive.
Yep, thats what he told me.
I need to read this book again.
They were trying to turn the place into Philadelphia... Don't know why they didn't just... you know. Film it in Philadelphia.
Well they've said they're having budgets issues. Usually stuff like that happens because of tax cuts that filming in certain places can get them. Ends up cheaper to make a different place look like Philadelphia than to actually film in Philadelphia. That's probably what's happening there.
this sounded unique, but now it's just a generic zombie movie.
lol you guys are surprised? It's hollywood.
If it's anything like 28 Weeks I will be disappointed.
Yea, 28 weeks sucked compared to 28 days.
To be honest, bad zombie movies are usually still pretty good. I think it's because zombie movies are rooted in B-movies with sub-par plots. Even the original Of The Dead films are fairly low quality if you think about it.
that's mostly because the blood and gore and mindless violence makes up for a lot of it though. this is going to be pg13 so the plot stands completely on its own. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
Yea, 28 weeks sucked compared to 28 days.
28 days later blew so it's really no surprise that the sequel did so as well
Oh shit, they're going to make another sequel? I need to place my bets on which country will get totally fucked this time. England's out, France is a possibility...
Apparently, it's set in Russia.
Apparently, it's set in Russia.
Pfft, Russia? Those crazy bastards would overrun the zombies, barehanded.
He clearly has never heard of any anaerobic processes. Lactic Acid Fermentation <3333333
Solanum, the Zombie virus of the Max Brook world, is a virus. Meaning it doesn't undergo cell-respiration at all. It also doesn't get food from anywhere.
I may be late to the party here, but, let me get this straight... They took an original plot about politics and humanity that just happened to have zombies in it as a catalyst for quasi-Armageddon and turned it into a generic zombie slasher? Great job, Hollywood, great job. Never change. :suicide:
I'm quite disappointed. It's kind of weird too, because there was a surprising amount of action in it for a book about interviews taking place after the zombies leave. Like that Internet kid who's attacked by zombies in his house, rappels down his apartment building with a few sheets, finds an Imperial Officer's sword, and kills his way out of Japan/China (I forget which). You are thinking of Kondo Tatsumi, and he did indeed start in Kyoto, Japan. However, he didn't 'fight his way out of it', he managed to make his way north and met with Tomonaga Ijiro, leader of the Tatenokai or “Shield Society”. You may know him as the man who lost his eyesight in the Nagasaki atomic bomb blast, and wandered into the wilderness, surviving and generally being a badass, a good quote of such being "I would hear that moan wafting across the hills and fields and know that, in perhaps half an hour or so, one of the living dead would be paying me a visit. In instances such as these I would halt, then patiently prepare myself for the attack. I would unclasp my pack, stretch my limbs, sometimes just find a place to sit quietly and meditate. I always knew when they were getting close enough to strike. I always took the time to bow and thank them for being so courteous to warn me. I almost felt sorry for the poor mindless filth, to come all this way, slowly and methodically, only to end their journey with a split skull or severed neck." Or that pilot, who's ejected out of her AC-130, and lands in Zombie-infested marshes. Christina Eliopolis. Hell, the Battle of Yonkers was probably one of the best bits of the book, for me at least. Amazing scenery, intense and realistic action, and utter horror as humanity is fucked over for the last time. Agreed. The audiobook was pretty neat to listen to as well. In fact, I think someone on facepunch started a topic about it and linked one part of Yonkers, and that was why I first got interested in WWZ. Ironically, it'll probably turn into exactly what the guy who described the scene (forget his name) thought would happen if it was an American movie after the President makes his speech. He says something like "If this were a movie, some guy would slowly start clapping, then another guy would start, and then they'd all be clapping, and they'd show a tear rolling down some guy's face or something." Yeah, the Whacko was pretty cool. Shame it never gave his name, at least not as far I know. I just did a scan through and I couldn't find it anywhere either.
That said, one of the stories I love the most was Sharon. That rehabilitated Feral from Topeka. "Sharon could be considered beautiful by almost any standard—with long red hair, sparkling green eyes, and the body of a dancer or a prewar supermodel. She also has the mind of a four-year-old girl." THAT was a good story, especially the end part. I'm going to reread the book again I think.
Hollywood movie is going to be generic -- Film at 11.
Hollywood movie is going to be generic -- Film at 11.
Is that supposed to be some humorous, grand sweeping generalization of American films?
