to my understanding, the house searches fall under "exigent circumstance" fancy term that allows for searching peoples homes without consent during an active pursuit, or when evidence is at risk of being destroyed. not an expert at con law, however.

Are the police going door to door asking or are they searching houses? I'm not clear on the situation and it's really difficult to find anything since it moves so quickly.

Does anyone feel like while searching through houses for this guy? They could be also running into/finding out more things on drug dealers, gangs, etc.?

Technically, since they're pretty much under marshal law, the police are allowed to break that rule for that time.
