As long as the Marine Corps emblem isn't embedded into it every so many inches like real MARPAT, I don't think it's considered MARPAT. Could be wrong, though

I think it's just the scanner with interference seeing as the officers seem to know what hes saying. That's good at least.

it's not illegal to wear MARPATs.
It'll piss every marine in a 50 mile radius, and the department is liable to get a angry red letter from the marine core, but i can't see it being a legal issue.

That's what I was thinking of too, but I thought that the colours and pattern was somehow protected from being used officially by others than the USMC itself.

Not meaning it's illegal, I just thought there were some regulations on who could buy actual uniforms with the real pattern for official use.
This is a matter for another thread though so don't let us keep discussing it here, sorry I brought it up.

They've said this earlier today to. Suspecting it's for the units going off-duty after hour long shifts.
Things seem to have become really calm over the scanner all of a sudden.
Not to sound like a dick, but is the massive amounts of backup really necessary? Seems like a waste of money just to catch one guy.
