Tiny Batteries Causing Big Health Problems for Kids

Being able to code HTML suggests that you're capable of comprehending at least some abstract concepts and by that point you're probably past the "eating small things off the floor because they look shiny" phase.
There are however mental disorders in existence such as Pica that make people want to eat random shit for whatever reason, and could presumably lead to someone who is otherwise intelligent to consume inedible objects.
I hope that clarifies my line of reasoning.
Back on topic, I wonder what specifically causes the injury. I assume with the talk of ulcers and burns the acid gets out or something.

i get it, kids are being kids and eating these batteries and dying, but don't fucking say that adults are selfish bastards just because of that, we have so many laws, regulations and rules already to keep those exact 11 year olds from seeing a pool of blood on tv or god forbid a pair of tits in a video game

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.
I mean I think back to lead paint on houses and all those kinds of fiascoes and can't help but think that the modern world is probably pretty safe for children in comparison.
before reading I thought it was due to exposure to them or something
no shit you shouldn't eat batteries what the fuck lol :downs:
No no, I fully understand the basics of HTML. I started learning when I was 9 or 10, but abandoned after a couple of months since I did not find it enjoyable. I'm sure I could brush up on it though.
Also, thank you for insulting me.
I get your point, but there is no need to brag.
:downs:
Consider the following: Stop watching porn and watch after your kids instead of crying about dangerous items you may let lying around.
These batteries have been around for decades. I find it impossible to believe that they're only now becoming a choking hazard...
There's some validity to your first point. However, most 13 year olds can barely navigate a computer's menus.
My 3 y/o Nephew browses Youtube on his Ipad and downloads apps. He has already completed the game Angry Birds and has completed a wide selection of games on his Nintendo DS like Mario.
What I can't get is that even 8-13 year olds still decide "ooh, small thing, let's eat it!" and then proceed to eat it. Under 7, I can understand more as their brains haven't developed as much, but any higher is just plain stupid.
And those 14 were probably a combination of stupidity and bad parenting too.
Life would be easier to understand if Coroners could list "Stupidity" as the cause of death. :v:

I specified a desktop computer, not a tablet.
it's not like html is hard
Yea, its not that hard at all.
