Going vegan is not the only way to prevent obesity.
You said that it going vegan somehow wasn't controlling you diet, that it wouldn't prevent obesity and that the woman that suggested otherwise was a "dumb bitch".
Fact: Creatine is only contained in meat, not vegetables. Without creatine it is impossible to grow muscles. Yes, you could take supplements, but doesn't that defeat the purpose since they are extracting the creating from meat in the first place.
Your body can produce it, but you need to get about the same amount produced from eating meat as well to stay healthy.
Being vegan is perfectly healthy: it's the 21st century.
[editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
It's probably more healthy in fact.
[editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
It's almost like you don't know about how much protein pulses and lentils contain.
[editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
And did you seriously say that vegetables don't contain vitamins?
Vegetables don't contain all proteins you can utilize.
Yes, some legume contain some proteins, but you can never get the same nutrients you get from meat, without meat, except some obscure unnatural supplementing which is horrible load of bullshit and most probably unhealthy to you, anyway.

Fact: Creatine is synthesised by the Human body.

Then how do cows grow muscles?
You said that it going vegan somehow wasn't controlling you diet, that it wouldn't prevent obesity and that the woman that suggested otherwise was a "dumb bitch".
No, she said it was the 'best thing to do' which it isn't.
Fact: Creatine is synthesised by the Human body.
No shit. I know, but it's in very small amounts.
I know tons of fat vegans.
Instead of eating meat they just a lot of sugar and Taco Bell (beans instead of meat)
Vegetables don't contain all proteins you can utilize.

if you could tell me which of these proteins cannot be synthesised by the human body that would be great
also what's wrong with suppliments: as I said its the 21st century
You said that it going vegan somehow wasn't controlling you diet, that it wouldn't prevent obesity and that the woman that suggested otherwise was a "dumb bitch".
I'm pretty sure he means there's healthier diets that'll help you lose weight that wont mean having to take supplements and that she's dumb because she's talking like it's the only way to.

Because suppliments are made out of meat products, dummy, it's not vegan. :v:
The main reason that people are fat is because of sugars. They simply eat too much of it.
In reality, almost everything edible is okay to eat in MODERATION. WATER, even WATER is bad in excess, and can cause your body to be too diluted if you drink too much.
You said that it going vegan somehow wasn't controlling you diet, that it wouldn't prevent obesity and that the woman that suggested otherwise was a "dumb bitch".
You can still be obese and eat yourself do death even as a vegan.
Eat nuts a lot and you will inflate like a ball.
Saying Vegetarianism = Low caloric is only what a dumb bitch could say.

The synthesis is a completely unnecessary step if you can get all the nutrients directly. It will slow other processes of your body down, for example the said muscle development, as not everything can run simultaneously. It also leads to having less useful energy, etc.
And yeah, you can use supplements, but you could as well eat all your nutrients chemically preprocessed. It's unnatural, needlessly complicated, and leaves you vulnerable to various situations.
[editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
And as Rents said, the supplements are made of animal tissue anyway, so you technically aren't vegan but just omnivorous in an obscure way.

But why is it so horribly wrong that facepunch needs to hate on everyone who chooses to live like that.

This guy is a vegetarian. That's Prince Fielder, 1st baseman in the MLB. I would say that he is overweight, I might even go as far and say he is obese.

you really think you can become a professional athlete without being able to grow muscles?
creatine is created in your body, you don't need meat.

Yeah, it's genetics. This guy's dad was a professional baseball player that is arguable as good/even better. Besides, this guy became a vegetarian when he became an adult, he was hitting home runs when he was a child (seriously, look him up).
you really think you can become a professional athlete without being able to grow muscles?

You don't need it, but you body doesn't function as well as it could without.
But why is it so horribly wrong that facepunch needs to hate on everyone who chooses to live like that.
I don't hate vegetarians or even vegans. I recognize their choice but I don't accept it as an intelligent one, unless they have a very specific reason for it.
Generally, citing purely dietary reasons for becoming a vegan or vegetarian is complete bullshit.
Vegan/Vegetarian diet can be healthy, yes, but only in case of very specific and precise choice of resources, something many people don't have time for or can't even reasonably afford.
You can sustain as or even healthier lifestyle with reasonable use of meat. One obviously has to control his diet, but it's generally easier to keep a healthy one than on purely floral alternative.
But why is it so horribly wrong that facepunch needs to hate on everyone who chooses to live like that.
Because some people, particularly PETA, the ALF and all that lot, do dumb shit like as mentioned in the article and act morally superior to people who don't agree with them, like the whole "meat is murder" bull shit.
But why is it so horribly wrong that facepunch needs to hate on everyone who chooses to live like that.
We don't hate vegetarians or vegans, we just hate vegetarians and vegans who insist that we should all live that way because it's the most healthy thing to do ever.

There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian.
We just hate people who pull shit out of their ass and call it a fact.

"Yes, some legume contain some proteins, but you can never get the same nutrients you get from meat, without meat, except some obscure unnatural supplementing which is horrible load of bullshit and most probably unhealthy to you, anyway."
No, you can get all protein easily from vegetables, there's nothing obscure about it, and there's literally nothing we need that isn't available through a vegan diet
I'm not saying it's healthier but please stop spouting crap you don't know about, there is no supplements that anyone needs (or that I've even heard of) that are extracted from meat
"The best thing that coffin dodgers can do for their health and to help animals is to go vegan," she said.
You have no idea what he's talking about.
Probably because he doesn't.
Loving the sexist language there.
Also going vegan definitely counts as controlling you diet.
This billboard is just assholeish though.
Because the contextual use of 'bitch' is somehow sexist :downs:
