It's impossible for me to gain weight. My metabolism is faster than a fucking jackrabbit.
As had been said before, you probably don't eat anywhere near as much as you think you do. That, and you're probably skinnyfat. A lot of the time, underweight people overestimate how much they eat just how fat people underestimate how much they eat.
I have a BMI of 16.5, IE: Underweight.
No the point is morons here who think they're safe because they can eat whatever they want and be okay are being naive, because their bodies are full of visceral fat on the inside and slowly killing them. They're no better than fat people.
Point taken. As i said previously, i'm underweight too while having a fast metabolism but i still make an effort to eat healthily and be healthy. I may be a basement dweller but i still exercise. I don't really eat food due to no appetite and usually have to force myself to eat but when i do, i try to observant of what i eat. I still partake in junk food though in small quantities (thanks to my small appetite, i don't even finish a small bag of chips meant for 1 serving). The fast metabolism though sucks so much for those who wish to gain muscle. I have to work much much much more harder to gain muscle as opposed to others. It took me about a year of going to the gym 3 times a week just to get the appearance of having some muscle, and i fucking worked for that.

I have a metabolism like yours and I feel like i'm hungry all the time, even after a huge meal but I may be wrong. I think having a metabolism that rapid while eating such small portions is probably pretty dangerous. if youre force feeding yourself then i guess that could sort it out lol
I'm 52kg, I had anorexia after this noro virus till it turned out to be that my pituitary gland failed on the steroids. I exercise and I eat a lot, but curse my body.
I'm the type of person with an Ectomorphic body; basically I'm underweight and it's hard to gain muscle mass due to my hyper active metabolism. Just recently I became extremely concerned with my health and began regularly working out 4 days a week with supplementing a protein shake before each workout. Within two weeks I already began to show signs of definition, increased endurance, and even weight gain. Not only do I look better, but I also feel better and healthier.

When i go to a restaurant i can literally just get a bowl of soup or a salad and that fills me completely. I just make myself have at least some food because i know it's not good if i don't eat anything at all. I've literally gone a few days without eating anything but meager morsels of food. It's just not healthy.
I eat fuck loads but never seem to put on any weight. Fast metabolism master race.
I hate it when people are like that, because I'm the opposite. I cannot eat anything but vegetables without gaining a truckload of weight and there's nothing I can really do about it. I exercise and try to eat right but in the end I only succeed in keeping my weight where it's at, never losing any.

I'm constantly in the 120-125lbs range, even in the offseason when I eat shit tons of Twizzlers and Culver's every other night
Oh gee, like we DIDNT KNOW THIS!
Looks like I am going to be immortal. Who wants to go to McDonalds with me?
I think a lot of people think that the article is about skinny people being as unhealthy as fat people, but its about skinny people being unhealthier than fat people. All in all it's not about being fat or not, it's about eating well and exercising or not
my bmi is 17.6 am I okay
shit well I'm skinny but not underweight so whatever
I'd rather be underweight than overweight.
I wish I had this problem...
That's what i had to do, take supplements to get any sort of results. Fast metabolism kind of sucks.
I had fast metabolism when I was a kid, but I got put on medication, it absolutely destroyed my metabolism. You should be proud to have it.
Yeah but fat people look disgusting.
THIS IS SOMETHING A FAT PERSON WOULD SAY
It's impossible for me to gain weight. My metabolism is faster than a fucking jackrabbit.
you're just as bad as fat people saying they can't lose weight eat more.
190 cm length and 90 kg, so underweight and it feels impossible to gain.
I had fast metabolism when I was a kid, but I got put on medication, it absolutely destroyed my metabolism. You should be proud to have it.
having an irregular metabolism isn't a thyroid problem, I bet you have a shitty diet and you don't put any effort into taking care of yourself
Dunno, there are like, another 50000 studies saying the opposite. Every time I see a study, another one comes along a month later saying the opposite. [editline]10th July 2012[/editline] Also how underweight are we talking about, and why? We know why being obese is bad, but why is being underweight so dangerous? Unless they mean so underweight you starve and you don't have anything "stored".
having an irregular metabolism isn't a thyroid problem, I bet you have a shitty diet and you don't put any effort into taking care of yourself
I never said anything about a thyroid problem, I said my metabolism was ruined by some medication I had to take when I was younger. I used to be active, I got less active when I started gaining weight because I didn't have the energy to stay active. That's not to say it isn't my fault, it is, I should have worked against it and I didn't, I just let it get worse. I'm trying to fix that now.
you're just as bad as fat people saying they can't lose weight eat more.
How this would sound yesterday...
Metabolism keeps me from putting on weight from food, and much too lazy to exercise for muscle. bye world
This sounds like utter shit but okay?
Jesus, then that means I'll die a lot sooner than my fat friends. I'm 6' or 6'1" and I only weigh like 133. [editline]10th July 2012[/editline] And I eat a shit ton, it probably has to due with my massive growth spurt in the past few months. Fucking late bloomer status.
The only problem is when people here go "I'm skinny I have a fast metabolism fuck yeah"
well not to mention that if you do have a fast metabolism it'll go away when you get into your 20's like it did for me. i had to really change my eating habits and that's hard when you grew up being able to eat horrible fatty british food without becoming fat.
I have appalling eating habits. Except for when I eat out, my meals typically consist of a pack of tuna or two a day. Maybe order a pizza once a week. Combined with the fact that I have awful sleep habits, its amazing that I'm not skinnier. [editline]10th July 2012[/editline] Though I have a friend who is 6'5 and eats tons of food. I've never seen another human being eat two T-Bone steaks in twenty minutes. And that is about average for him, of the minimum four meals he eats a day. And he weighs in at about 180 to 200 lbs. Though yeah, like thisispain said, I keep telling him his metabolism is going to crash on him soon.
