Being a skinny is pretty unhealthy? Yeah I guess I could see that.
WOW what a fantastic excuse for me to continue being a fat chode, thx!!
"This just in, different ends of the spectrum are hazardous to health, in other news, sun shines grass grows and news articles post the obvious" I mean, you would think a body that has layers of fat storage and sustenance would be better than somebody that's malnourished or has no 'stock' if you want to call it that.
that plus, fat is made to protect organs + keep you warm
No the point is morons here who think they're safe because they can eat whatever they want and be okay are being naive, because their bodies are full of visceral fat on the inside and slowly killing them. They're no better than fat people.
its ok that fat people are fat skinny people with super metabolisms the real fat people :v:
Yeah but fat people look disgusting.
:I
Extremely misleading "study" and news. "Severely obese people are only 1.26 times more likely to die than normal people". (and I thought we all are 100% likely to die) It seems to me that they compared the groups by dividing dead fatties by total dead people and so on. This is not a very good way to compare. Old people often lose weight when they die after weeks in hospital/nursing home in a weak condition. They should have looked at the age when the people died. I bet the numbers would be reverse if they had compared people under 50 and dropped out the severely underweight people (under 17.5 BMI). Besides skinny =/= underweight. Under 2% of the US population is considered underweight. Secondly, although fatties may not die that much earlier, obesity still carries a lot of health problems.
My BMI is like 69. I'm sexy fat.
The only problem is when people here go "I'm skinny I have a fast metabolism fuck yeah" when in reality their body is full of visceral fat and that is very dangerous which can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart failure. Looking slim is one thing, being healthy is quite another. There have been numerous studies on it, U.K. scientists have created fat maps using MRI, close to half the women and more than half the men with normal scores had excessive levels of internal fat deposited around the heart and liver, and streaked through under used muscle much like a well-marbled steak. Diet alone is not enough to protect our bodies from disease. While dieting may help us look better in a bathing suit, it could also cause our bodies to change the way it stores fat. In short, if you're one of those idiots that has a fast metabolism and constantly binging on junk food because "I can't get fat" then you're in for a wake up call because your insides are fully of it, wrapping around your organs and killing you as chemicals from the fat leak into your blood and organs and give you numerous worries. You don't even need to be eating junk food 24-7 for it to happen.
So in other words....exercise.
I am really underweight, I'm 18 yet I weigh around 108-110lbs.
Yeah but how far off the deep end do you have to be to be considered "underweight"
I had fast metabolism when I was a kid, but I got put on medication, it absolutely destroyed my metabolism. You should be proud to have it.
Yes it's useful, but annoying. If you want to build muscle it makes it leagues harder. If your metabolism is as quick as mine and you can't really eat anything without your body using it up quickly you get very skinny. The cold absolutely sucks as your extremities are always have frozen. Energy is finicky, and you need to take vitamins on a daily basis. This isn't for everything obviously, but for me that's how it is.
you're just as bad as fat people saying they can't lose weight eat more.
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat. edit; It's called a joke
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat.
wow that's fucking disgusting You might be skinny but jesus good luck with your heart attack at 50
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat.
What exactly is your diet? And how tall are you?
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat.
I hear there might be fat clogging up your veins, so it might not be a good idea.
Considering I have been extremely underweight all my life and tons of health issues I think it would be pretty obvious.
I'm slightly overweight at 6'3 and 213lb, so I'm fine :D
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat.
If you really eat like that you're an idiot. Stop eating that shit, start counting your calories and eat actual food; lean meat, veggies, brown rice/pasta, fruits, nuts. I bet you'd get at least ½kg a week at 3500 cal a day.
Actually, I eat the equivalent of five big macs with sodas (3 large pizzas-ish) a day and I still have practically zero body fat.
do you think that all that fat jumps out of your nose or something?
I eat healthy, but still skinny. Porkchops, rice, milk, and broccoli for lunch and dinner yo. Everyday.

What if you eat healthy and exercise but are still skinny? I'm like that and I don't think it's a problem for me, I feel great. Some people are naturally skinny. I got a 26 inch waist, that's some hourglass shit there.
Fact is, BMI is fairly bullshit. A lot of healthy people are considered overweight when they're not fat in any regard. Think of almost any major Hollywood actor and they're probably considered overweight in the BMI system.
Wauw. That information is very old, I'd known that for a long time. Did you also know that being obease is very unhealthy too?
What am i if i have a size 46(USA) waist, weigh 370lbs, and am 6'2" tall?
What am i if i have a size 46(USA) waist, weigh 370lbs, and am 6'2" tall?
47.5, Obese Class III.
Yeah but fat people look disgusting.
And this is any better? I think this is far more disgusting than severely obese people.
This seems to be criticizing the BMI scale more so than anything. Also there is a difference between "skinny" and underweight, the title is borderline sensational. Of course you're more likely to die if you're underweight, your body isn't properly fed, it's lacking various crucial nutrients and vitamins. When you're overweight at least you're still eating and getting those nutrients, albeit in larger quantities. It's kind of hard to over supply your body with vitamins by just eating food. I'm about 10 pounds underweight and to make sure i'm not unhealthy i take various vitamin supplements which i otherwise wouldn't be getting from my almost non existent diet.
eat a fucking rare steak
And this is any better? I think this is far more disgusting than severely obese people.
yeah that's disgusting but do you really believe all underweight people look like that? I'm fairly sure she classifies as anorexic. I could pull out a picture of a 400lbs woman and say the same thing. they're at both ends of the spectrum and they're both fucking disgusting.

Though I'm skinny and I hardly eat junk food as they don't taste good for me anymore.
