Yay, new players!
a-fucking-gree! [editline]07:10AM[/editline] this mostly to the people in the comments on the actual website, its just that there is so many of them.
Your avatar makes me think that you're 12, I'm going to stick with that and say I don't give two shits if apples are better, or PCs are, what I hate is the fanbase, I'm not innocent in any way but I think that you, me and the rest of the fucking forum need to shut the fuck up about this "Computer war", you're worse than fucking console personnel for wars.
I don't think hipsters understand engineering.
Fuck yes love you garry
How will they freeze objects with the PhysGun?
Wow! I'm sure noone's ever said that before! You're so imaginative. :v: Seriously, good news. I too think macs are overpriced (even though I like the OS), but if someone wants to play gmod natively on Mac OS X then go for it :) Never understood all this hate against macs.
Um, it's a known fact that OSX uses less memory. Nothing wrong with admitting that. Doesn't mean it's a good operating system, because it's not.
look what the bloody fuck you have just done
Never understood all this hate against macs.
It's pretty easy. back in the days when the hardware in the Macs were actually different and worked differently (as in, they were more specialized) than the Windows counterparts MACs were prefered by artists, Mac were a computer for people who did all sorts of media related work. Windows was an office computer for more serious and advanced user, and later also gamers. (this is what the MAC vs PC commercials are all about) So "everyone" that appriciated design and worked with media bought MACs which were more expensive than your standard Windows PC but also looked nicer and performed better when it came to media related tasks. Everyone else that needed an office PC, a gamer PC or just a standard work PC bought Windows. There is also the fact that Macs DIDN'T have viruses so they were a bit high on themselves there and it's always been a selling key for the Mac, as well as the Mac is much more user friendly, things "just work", things go with a click of the button and you don't really need to do any advanced options. Whereas the Windows is kind of made to allow for many options and is more advanced to use and can cause a lot more trouble for people who don't know what they are doing. So yeah, the Mac people get high on themselves and boast about their Virus free and crash free simple computer and the Windows people hate them for it and counter with games and the need of more brains to use it. But nowadays it's all pretty much obsolete as they run the same hardware and perform just as well, only thing that can make a difference is OS specific programs that may simply be better and more optimized to do the job it's meant to do. The only thing that does stay the same is that Windows is more advanced and thus easier to fuck up if you don't know what you are doing, which is one of the main arguments for people liking Mac; "It doesn't crash (it does, but seldom) and is easy to use and everything just works".

this is awesome, thanks Garry.
Hahaha the blt guy is such a fanboy
:irony:
Didn't expect it to get released this early :o
Windows is good but with stock settings its a big fat bitch. It has shortcut keys that are fucking useless and get in the way. (Sticky-Keys etc.) It has stupid ass UAC and a slew of other problems. Good to see the mac is getting more support.
:irony:
Where am I saying macs suck and we should be all using windows? Or that ATi is better than nvidia?
Windows is good but with stock settings its a big fat bitch. It has shortcut keys that are fucking useless and get in the way.
Where am I saying macs suck and we should be all using windows? Or that ATi is better than nvidia?
Don't mean to sound like a kiss-ass but he has never said anything about macs being inferior/superior, I don't understand all the hate :sigh:
Macs are perfectly fine machines. It's mostly Apple's company policies that get on my nerves.
stop. this thread is not about pc vs mac, this is to discuss the release of gmod for the mac.
I understand this, but yet they are STILL expensive.
Not here in Norway. I've compared the exact same specs (found a site that actually informed you WHAT parts they had in the Mac, not just Intel Core I42, but Intel Core I42 93583) and everything was the same price, give or take 7-15 bucks. HOWEVER. The SCREEN, the glossy hi-res colour-accurate small screen, now that adds to a lot of the price. It's the screen that differs between a regular Windows PC and a Mac OSX PC. Try to find a screen for Windows that is just as good as the Mac and you'll have to pay MINIMUM as much, but usually way more.

Didn't garry post on his blog somewhere that source games ran surprisingly bad on a 2000 euro mac?
I agree, Macs have awesome screens but that's really where the awesome ends.
But that's also where the price change ends. Then it's all up to wheter or not you prefer the OS itself.
oh god, there's going to be a ton of minges when this day comes.
oh god, there's going to be a ton of minges when this day comes.
Not more than usual.
Yay, more players = more fun.
And so ignorant fucks start to block mac users even before they come http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=110387 haters gonna hate

you could simply change it to ban.
