'Blood moon' rising: Total lunar eclipse on April 14-15, first in rare series - Polidicks

That was pretty sweet. It was copper 20 minutes ago, then I look out and it's literally blood red. Sight of a lifetime.

I don't see red yet, maybe it has a very [I]very[/I] slight red hue to it but nothing incredible. What is incredible is how many cows are mooing, my house is on an old farm property and the surrounding land is mostly pastures for cows and fields, they are seriously either all screaming bloody murder or they're all having babies I'm not even joking. It's kind of creepy sounding in terms of ambient noise in the middle of the night.

I'm sitting out in the sidewalk like a weirdo waiting for it to go full red

Being in Texas, I could literally see the moon far. Shit's rad.

I think it's getting darker but I can't be sure

There's still a lot of brightness flooding the bottom edge, but otherwise it's completely red. I hope that I'll be able to see a red outline once it's perfectly lined up

I spoke too soon when I said the skies were clear. Looks like I'm gonna have another half an hour (at least) of cloud coverage.

I can see it, surprisingly.

I saw it, was pretty cool. Made the moon look like the deathstar cause it became kind of this smaller, greyish, looking mass from my perspective. But my cousin said he could see a lot more red and orange. I don't know, maybe I can't see colors well in space. Also it was cool how we could actually see Mars and stuff for once.

Thankfully, it was a clear night tonight, and I kinda got to see it. And now I have to go to bed and get up in 4 hours to go to work. :v:

also my really douchey neighbor came home blasting hiphop at this fucking hour so i just went inside so i didn't have to answer questions about why i was staring at the sky at 2:30

Well that was super cool. I wish I could get pictures of it but my phone just turns it into a big ball of reddish copper. It's been red for a while now. Well, I mean, I don't really get why people call it red. It's kind of the color of dried blood, which is more brown. So I mean, it's not really BLOOD RED. Blood Moon is accurate enough though. I dont know what I'm going on about. I should probably go to sleep :v:
