It is a pretty sad day when Comedy Central would cancel Futurama and let Brickleberry go on.
It's only a matter of time before Brickleberry gets the axe from Comedy Central. It was almost universally panned as being utter shit after episode 3. The only reason it's lasted this long is because of Daniel Tosh's influence. They need to clean house. Kill Brickleberry, the Jeselnik Offensive, the Ben Show, the Burn with Jeff Ross, Nathan for You, the Kroll Show, and stop airing the standup routines of all these generic, unfunny "comedians" (for fucks sake, that's like half their programming now). Oh and it would be nice to see Jon Benjamin Has a Van return.
Futurama is literally the only Adult Swim cartoon that I dont like. Other than Squidbillies
thats a shame squidbillies is fantastic really any williams street show is
Didn't really find the new stuff all that interesting honestly. I don't know quite how to describe it but it's gone all 'meta' and can't help but endlessly reference current happenings... and that's just not interesting. It's like a slightly less obscene South Park or something now. There's always the original seasons though, and they're as brilliant as ever, every time. I'll miss the show (again), but I won't be sad it ended.
Started to watch Futurama today, and I like it. Still have 6 and a half season to watch. But still, I feel sad that there won't be new series, if they are as good as old ones..
(User was banned for this post ("Video macro/reply" - Orkel))
That wasn't very nice :c

The movie channels have tv shows now, Mtv is well you know, and sci fi is syfy.
So, no reason other than "we feel its time to end it"? At least it beats the situation where it originally got cancelled: So the time slot could go to some unfunny "Malcom In The Middle" type show set in the 50's(which ended up cancelled shortly after).
Malcolm in the Middle was funny :colbert:
Malcolm in the Middle was funny :colbert:
Well, Oliver Bean, the show I was referring to as "Malcom In The Middle set in the 50's", wasn't. But thats a different discussion altogether.

Futurama will always be my favorite adult cartoon. Although, c'mon. There were way too many sex jokes in the newer seasons.
Futurama used to be very emotional until a few of the newer seasons episodes.
the newer seasons lost some of the emotional appeal that the earlier ones had, but that could just be bad writing, they are also more up to date on stuff though, like al gore isn't making many appearances anymore, in the old series he was there every few episodes, i just wished they woulda given them a season to end the show, it seams kinda dumb that they cancle it before the next season even airs

I feel it has been going down in quality. The DVD movies were great, but Season 6 and 7 were meh. There were some good episodes, but a lot of them fell flat (and some were awful, like the eyePhone episode.)
nah-uh that episode was good

Bitch I'm gonna cut you...
Do I need to post Susan Boil again?
Do I need to post Susan Boil again?
No-one really cared about that bit, that was more or less just filler for that episode. It's how it mocked Apple and Twitter users that made it worthwhile.
Forgive me for being apathetic, but I haven't held much warmth for Futurama for a long time. I liked it as a kid, but as I grew up it just began to grate on me. It always seems like people only like it because it was a meaner, more nerdy Simpsons and that gelled well with the cynical geek culture that makes up much of the internet. Seriously, it's to the point where I just go "ugh" whenever I see another damn Bender avatar anymore. It's like when people call themselves fans of Cartman. Just... ugh. How? That said, I never really had that "falling out" with The Simpsons that many other people had. I still think it's pretty funny. Family Guy, though... Yeah, it did indeed turn from a funny show into a politically-charged douchefest. Not that it can't still be funny at times and I myself am a liberal person so it's not like I conflict with the show's message, but for the love of god, Seth: shut up.
I will never forgive them for that one scene in the episode where they switch bodies.
I will never forgive them for that one scene in the episode where they switch bodies.
What scene?
What scene?
Fry and Leela being in doctor Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth body. With the emotional shit going on between them, guess where that goes :v:
Fry and Leela being in doctor Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth body. With the emotional shit going on between them, guess where that goes :v:
Oh yeah. Don't see the fuss about that, it's a silly scene used to show that they care about each other even if one is a homeless space lobster and the other is like two-hundred years old.
The 'Universe in a Box' episode hurt my brain. Still does. It's an Animated Sci-Fi Comedy, which are my 3 favourite types of show. This is a sad day.
You can only make so many episodes of one show until it starts losing quality or people just get bored. They might pick it up again in the future, anyway.
Pasterama

It's the same reason they like Tosh.0 so much. Futurama has some pretty involved animation/CG, big name VAs and other people working on it that bring the price way up (back when it was on Fox, it was over a million per episode). The networks don't care about quality, they care about money. A crappy, but really cheap show probably makes more profit than a well made, somewhat popular, but expensive show. CC already cut the Futurama budget a lot compared to Fox. Part of why it doesn't seem as good is because they nearly halved the writing staff.
