When they go into conflict it goes against those ideas but it actually starts to get them going places.

Many notable modern democracies came out of a revolution, as anything short of an uprising of the proletariat tends to result in an oligarchy. I'm not seeing how being willing to fight for your beliefs goes against the concept of a government made to represent the people...
