It ended, get over it.
Just because there was no written "This is the official end of the war" does NOT mean it's still continuing. The fact that the media keeps saying "they're still officially at war" is to just make them firstly, look smart, and secondly, create a hype that conflict will still arise (which ups the ratings).

They ARE at war and do not recognize each other. They just have a temporary cease fire which is occasionally completely ignored by one side.

There's these things called "de jure" and "de facto".
They are de facto not at war.

I am pretty sure the fact they are shooting each other (even if its rare) means they are still at war.
North Korea could never win a war. I'd be more scared of New Zealand.

"The war is considered to have ended at this point, even if there was no peace treaty"

You're right, kiwis are scary.
Jsm is right, they are still at war, both countries recognize the fact they are at war, neither of them claim to be in "de facto" peace. The united states withdrawl does not mean the war was over.
They get into a skirmish about every year or so, and they are constantly building up arms.
How is that so hard to understand?

There are many nations in the world that have border skirmishes and are not at war.
The US-Mexico border sees them occasionally between national guard/border patrol troops and drug cartel militias.

1) A militia does not need to be state sponsored
2) I was not comparing the Korean shelling incident to the US border issue, I was comparing his description of "shooting at each other", which can be as vague as a small gunfight.

They are an organized armed group. Is that not the definition of a militia?
Iran fortifying their arsenal with the help of North Korea.....

They put walls of communist manifestos and portraits of Kim Jung Il around their armories to protect them from evil capitalist spirits.

It is. The problem with your comparison however is that the Mexican Cartels are not associated with the Mexican government at all. In fact, they are enemies.

I doubt the minutemen of Massachusetts in 1775 were associated with the Royal Governorship of the colony. State approval and association is not part of the definition of a militia.
