American broadcasting studio that does Korean shows.
My SAT/College advisor has a show on it.
There's no way the US would be at Defcon 1... I think we're sitting pretty at Defcon 3, still... I don't even think the US went to Defcon 1 during the Cuban Missile Crisis
The highest confirmed DEFCON ever was Level 2. During the Cuban Missile Crisis on October 22, 1962, the U.S. armed forces were ordered to DEFCON 3. On October 23, Strategic Air Command (SAC) was ordered to DEFCON 2, while the rest of the U.S. armed forces remained at DEFCON 3. SAC remained at DEFCON 2 until November 15. ~ Wikipedia
Well ladies and gentlemen, it has gotten to the point where it can either go horribly wrong, or nothing happens at all.
Not to get on a high-horse, but if the US "strongly urges ceasefire" and NK doesn't listen, they're fucked.

Damn this thread goes fast.
Anyway this hopefully won't end up in anything major.
South Korea does.
I'd bet you guys are minutes away from Defcon 2 then, That's an order that has to be given by the leader of the country I believe, and since he's just now meeting with this Defense Minister, it's likely...
Not to worry though, DEFCON is just a country's state of Readiness for war, any type, not JUST Nukes
or Korea at War
Perhaps an expansion called "United Korea"?

The Cuban Missile Crisis was the lowest we've ever gone, at DEFCON 2.

For much of the Cold War, U.S. ICBM sites were at DEFCON 4, rather than 5.
