I always feel sorry for sk always having to deal with his jerky/crazy brother
Doesn't mean a shitload of stuff isn't going to be absolutely obliterated. It's still way more than they are willing to risk.
Seoul has an extensive bunker system in place, it shouldn't be too bad if they do end up getting shelled. I wouldn't be surprised if they were evacuating people right now.
You think that bunker system can hold twelve million people? Do you know how long it would even take to evacuate twelve million people?
Well. This ought to be interesting.
If this does escalate to a bigger conflict then we can just send in Raptor Team and it will sort itself out.
If this does escalate to a bigger conflict then we can just send in Raptor Team and it will sort itself out.
No we should send in Raynor's Raiders
You think that bunker system can hold twelve million people? Do you know how long it would even take to evacuate twelve million people?
It would be significantly worse without them. It is, by comparison, not such a bad outcome.
Well. This ought to be interesting.
$20 says the US forces there get the warning order in under 45 mikes.
More like in -20 mikes. No doubt they've already been told.
Yeah, all fun from watching asshole countries stumble around aside, it would be fucking awful if something happened to Seoul, and it would be likely if this escalated. Very densely populated city getting attacked, bad thing.
It would be significantly worse without them. It is, by comparison, not such a bad outcome.
By comparison yes but it's still not something they take lightly. There's still going to be close on a million people killed and most of the above ground stuff leveled. If they can avoid going into conflict, they sure as hell will.
I'm still going to go ahead and say that this will be over in a matter of days. It will result in a cease fire and then North Korea making demands to the UN in which we will find middle ground and everything will just got back to normal.
Or they're trying to crash world markets?
Yes America is going to re-instate the draft for a fight against the DPRK. Jesus, you people e: Really? Dumb? What, do you think we're going to make a massive land assault against them?
Why do you assume he's in America?
Here's something interesting, four fighter jets just flew over my dorm heading north, the direction of Korea.
From japan?
Yonhap news reports 1 South Korean soldier died. God/Cthulu/Black Jesus bless that poor soldier.
Scary shit.
Here's something interesting, four fighter jets just flew over my dorm heading north, the direction of Korea.
Where do you live?
Sucks for Korea, but people need to stop making it out to be WWIII. Its Korea. They fight amongst themselves, the only way the outside world would be affected is if we inject ourselves into the situation. Like always (For the US anyway).
Or they're trying to crash world markets?
Like I said, if NK and SK go to war, the US Dollar rises. Why would NK want that to happen?
Why do you assume he's in America?
I shouldn't have, now that I think about it. I never consider how international these boards are.
By comparison yes but it's still not something they take lightly. There's still going to be close on a million people killed and most of the above ground stuff leveled. If they can avoid going into conflict, they sure as hell will.
If seoul is shelled I don't think anything's going to be able to stop someone from bombing North Korea, even if it ends up being the US.
this is exciting
Sucks for Korea, but people need to stop making it out to be WWIII. Its Korea. So implying the US gets involved in stuff where they don't belong is useless. [editline]23rd November 2010[/editline]
If seoul is shelled I don't think anything's going to be able to stop someone from bombing North Korea, even if it ends up being the US.
I'm sure NK would be leveled if Seoul is ever attacked.
I'd presume south korea would afford Jacksons Revenge from the merc compound
If seoul is shelled I don't think anything's going to be able to stop someone from bombing North Korea, even if it ends up being the US.
If they are shelled randomly sure, if they can avoid being shelled then they will. They aren't going to go and cause shit because they know they would get fucked over. As for what happens after that, it's fairly obvious.
I don't see this escalating much further. North Korea is an economically dead country, they could not hope to sustain a war effort against even a fraction of the might of the American military. At the risk of sounding like a war hawk, we would roll through that country in less than a month, and with the North Korean people having been so oppressed, I can't imagine we'd see in the way of resistance to our occupation.
So this is why Starcraft 2 multiplayer is empty right now?
Where do you live?
Fukuoka, Japan. Doing a study abroad year. The planes are from the JSDF base at the airport, and I live right on the ocean. They're probably just going in case or something, but it's odd that Japan would send planes out. Defense policy right? I don't get it.
doubt anything will happen, sounds like school kids fighting on the playground.
Like I said, if NK and SK go to war, the US Dollar rises. Why would NK want that to happen?
We'll see whatever happens once the US Stock Market opens.
