the fuck are you guys even doing? you guys have little to none experience in these fields, why are you acting like you do?
Unless you're a general of course, then by all means go ahead
Because obviously first-hand experience is the only way to know anything about anything ever.
I'm talking about military targets, eg fielded ground forces and AA emplacements, not cities. It's hard to believe that the entire US Air Forces Korea can completely shut off NK logistics lines considering that they have just two wings of aircraft.
Yes, the some of the aircraft he states are obsolete, but it shows an example of what is needed to launch a sustained air campaign against North Korea.
Funny thing about planes: They fly. Most of them pretty fast! The USAF is designed to relocate and operate aircraft out of local airstrips.
B-2's and B-52's can operate from the United States. Though I imagine the former would be of more use than the latter in the early days.
Plus we have other aircraft carriers which can relocate to the region.

Speculating about possible military strategies and political ramifications is a form of entertainment. Cry about it.

I'm pretty sure Gunfox has proven again and again he knows his shit.
And even at that, do you have proof that he has spoken untrue things every time he posts?

We are the armchair generals.

I'd like proof that what he's saying IS true
I don't much doubt him, but it's the citationless babbling that makes me mad

You obviously missed what I was trying to get across.
You see, there are these things called books. They've been around for a while. Made out of paper, sometimes bound in leather or other hard material. People impart knowledge by writing words on to pieces of paper and then binding them with a catchy cover. These things are then used by people to learn about a variety of subjects that they themselves might not be able to experience first-hand.
I was sure everyone knew about these things. :raise:
as bad as war is, don't you really wish it would happen though? it's a horrible thing to say, but north korea is an absolute shithole for it's people and it really does need to be liberated of it's government

nope obviously the people who wrote those book have never attacked korea themselves and therefore speculating about shit they know nothing about
Funny thing about planes: They fly. Most of them pretty fast! The USAF is designed to relocate and operate aircraft out of local airstrips.
Cool, can they arrive along with their required logistical aid in time? You'll have your air campaign, but not before North Korean forces make gains in the South.
Plus we have other aircraft carriers which can relocate to the region.
Same thing here. The closest CV I can see looking at US Navy deployment lists is USS George Washington. All other carriers are going to take some time to deploy and arrive in-theater. I can only see the B-2s as the only air asset that could deploy on a moment's notice.

No, a war in the Korean region would instigate international attention, and would likely cause global conflict. I do not want World War III, not matter how nice it would be to free North Korea's people.
Even if something where to happen, it probably won't happen for at least a week.
I don't see a war in NK causing WW3 either if China decides not to back them and they already gave that answer when that boat got torpedoed
My friend is on the Washington right now, he must be having a pretty hectic day on top of all the controlled chaos that it already is
Told you man baba vanga said that world war 3 would start this month man i told you
nope obviously the people who wrote those book have never attacked korea themselves and therefore speculating about shit they know nothing about
Precisely. How dare they apply practical, job-related knowledge to hypothetical situations.
Fuckers.
[sp]Referring to book writers, as a note[/sp]

Oh any scenario is going to have the North gaining in the south. We can't magically teleport to their aid.
My point is that they are going to fail. Any move they make will overextend them significantly and will screw them in relatively short order.
Oh any scenario is going to have the North gaining in the south. We can't magically teleport to their aid.
Exactly. While it's unlikely to see a North Korean military victory, the sheer size of their armed forces and counter-air/counter-PGM measures means that they're going to give the South and the US a meatgrinder in one way or another before they go down. I'm not saying that the North is going to totally roll over the South down to Pusan.
Of course they're going to fail, but in the long run. Conquering the rest of the South is well beyond their abilities, but it's possible they can capture nearby Seoul. Considering the lethality of modern weapons, would they push further south? I bet not unless they want to die and plan to take as many southerners along with them.
waitwaitwaitwait, "speculating on something [we] know nothing about" because "[we] have no first-hand experience"? Then what would be the point of the speculation? One cannot go into a situation blind, one must speculate to plan, coordinate, prepare and otherwise be ready to tackle a multitude of potential situations.
Or you know, so we have something to talk about because nothing else has happened yet.
Heres how its gonna go, N. Korea is gonna attack S. Korea then America steps in. THE DAY IS SAVED HAPPY HAPPY FUN TIME :fuckyou:
