What isn't is how effective their brainwashing is. How representative of the general North Korean population are the defectors? If they are, in fact, demoralised by hunger and an oppressive regime, we can expect the military to collapse upon South Korea and it's allies striking them hard. If not, it's going to be one hell of a bloody war, for both sides, albeit not going to last more than a couple years at most.
