you would be surprised if you were completely unaware of context and the fact that it's obviously an anti-immigration douche with a "satirical" sign that is supposed to portray a violent and entitled illegal immigrant
Not surprised, but it is amazing how some illegal immigrants act.
Not surprised, but it is amazing how some illegal immigrants act.
Judging by all none of them you met.
A driver's license is not a benefit. A license means that driver has taken tests that prove they are proficient at handling a car(or other vehicle) AND know the rules of the road. This is good, you should want all people driving to be qualified. Telling someone to not bother with the license means you will have drivers who haven't been tested, who haven't learned the rules of the road, and who may know very little about how to drive on our streets and freeways. So unless you are one of those people who believes unlicensed drivers will think "Oh well, I was going to drive but since I don't have a license I won't", this is not a good thing. Here in Southern California, driving is kind of important. Important enough that licensed or not, insured or not, people WILL drive.
They do more than just show that you are competent enough to drive a vehicle. They're also the primary means of identification for all sorts of things. So it doesn't really matter if they took the drivers test if the material on the card isn't true. I don't think that illegal immigrants should be able to get licences, however I do feel that there needs to be a better way for them to become legal immigrants. Illegal is always the primary word here, and when they're here against the law they are breaking the law and should not receive benefits as such. If you don't like that then do what I support and make it so it is easier for them to become legal.
What's so bloody bad about this, I'm a legal immigrant, so I get benefits of being an American, but to give benefits to people who deserve them just because they're foreigners does't make any bloody sense. I fought, killed, and nearly died for this country, I earned my bloody rights, but these people seem to want to deserve them for nothing. Bloody cowards.
uh rights don't work that way if you earn them they're privileges not rights
I don't even know why these people don't try to naturalize, or just wait in bloody line like the European and Asian immigrants, well, I don't understand the Canadians doing it, I can understand Mexicans doing it. That country's been a bloody shithole since the Spanish left.
naturalization takes 5 years and that's only if you have a green card
They do more than just show that you are competent enough to drive a vehicle. They're also the primary means of identification for all sorts of things.
Wait, so, if you're not in the US legally you can't be competent enough to drive? That is some backwards ass logic, let me tell you. Honestly, the fact that they're ID's are irrelevant so I don't know why you brought it up.
Wait, so, if you're not in the US legally you can't be competent enough to drive? That is some backwards ass logic, let me tell you.
That's not what I mean. What I'm saying is that chances are if an illegal immigrant is trying to get their licence now they're using their fake ssn's and other information to get it. So while they may be the safest driver in the world the information on the card may not be true.

Well, minus the satisfaction of people who hate immigrants. So it's completely irrelevant and useless.
Yeah and there's no real way to check that unless you start uselessly checking citizenship on EVERYONE which will waste more time and money for no result. Well, minus the satisfaction of people who hate immigrants. So it's completely irrelevant and useless.
It's not irrelevant in the fact that it's illegal. If I were to fake the information on my drivers licence I could potentially face jail time, and I am a citizen. If you don't like the fact that it's illegal write your congressmen to change the law so it isn't. [editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
naturalization takes 5 years and that's only if you have a green card
Not if you serve in the military. A lot of folks I know got their citizenship just for finishing the first 3 weeks of bootcamp. Sometimes It takes longer, but everyone's a citizen by the end of their contract.
I feel bad. I'm a legal immigrant and it took my family YEARS just to live a normal life. I wish I could say the same for my cousin my age. He can't even go to college, work a decent job, let alone drive on the street as a normal working US citizen. Yet he pays his employment taxes, and only wants to live as an American. He cares for your grandma and grandpa, caring for them next to their deathbed while you "Americans" scramble to leave them to die. He's the hardest working person I know. Yet to everyone else he's an illegal that needs to be sent back to the country People really need to stop with the thought that immigrants are just criminals wanting to cash in. They're more "American" than people realize
How can illegal immigrants pay taxes if they aren't citizens
Please do not speak about things you know nothing about. Seriously
Not surprised, but it is amazing how some illegal immigrants act.
Same goes to you asshole
Not if you serve in the military.
are you suggesting everyone serve in the military??
are you suggesting everyone serve in the military??
Well in my honest opinion I feel that everyone should at least hold a public service job before entering into politics, but no. I'm saying that for some people like Moustacheman that's a good route to take. It guarantees citizenship, a job, an education after the enlistment, and depending on the field you go into a job skill. With some contracts being as short as 3 years it's significantly easier than waiting the 5 and having to take some exam. You get the citizenship in as little as 3 weeks, guaranteed by the end of your active enlistment. You don't even need a green card to sign up, you can use a student visa.
yeah sure but it's a path a lot of people can't take. why are we pretending like it's easy as piss to become a US citizen? everyone would do it if that was true, there's no advantage to being an illegal immigrant. and a student visa is also very difficult to get, not to mention an illegal immigrant is not able to get a student visa

I'm not saying that our immigration system shouldn't change (It definitely should) but people shouldn't be illegally coming over here. [editline]6th September 2012[/editline] And honestly, that's a poor argument. I could also argue that I should be entitled to drive a rental car before I've actually paid for it because I want it. [editline]6th September 2012[/editline] There's a difference between being anti-immigration and being anti-illegal immigration.
Not surprised, but it is amazing how some illegal immigrants act.
did you misread my post entirely or are you just dumb enough to generalize a massive population of people based on a conservative cunt holding a violent impostor sign at a protest [editline]6th September 2012[/editline]
It's not irrelevant in the fact that it's illegal. PHEW what a relief, for a second there i thought you had to go through some long, painful and often risky process to become a citizen..
did you misread my post entirely or are you just dumb enough to generalize a massive population of people based on a conservative cunt holding a violent impostor sign at a protest
Neither, you just completely misunderstood me, as always.
i don't even get what you are trying to argue asteroidrules, you're just digging a hole with no purpose
Well then you should've been bitching about the broken immigration system from the get-go, instead of the illegal immigrants.
The thing is, people shouldn't be illegally coming into this country no matter what the immigration laws are. Living in America is not a basic human right.
The thing is, people shouldn't be illegally coming into this country no matter what the immigration laws are. Living in America is not a basic human right.
people shouldn't be doing a lot of things, i think coming into the US and doing cheap labour for subpar wages is low on the list of horrible crimes.
people shouldn't be doing a lot of things, i think coming into the US and doing cheap labour for subpar wages is low on the list of horrible crimes.
I never said it was horrible. Things don't have to be horrible to make it so that they shouldn't be happening.
okay but why shouldn't it be happening?
okay but why shouldn't it be happening?
Reform of the immigration laws, plane and simple.
Reform of the immigration laws, plane and simple.
huh what
huh what
Change the laws so it's easier for people to get into the country legally, and to make those who are already here illegally to be able to become here legally.
that wasn't my question...
hey you live in california? so do i, we should touch dicks
That's Okay in California!
