They came. They watched. That's it.
I think they mean..
They watched, They Came.

Supreme Court already ruled nobody, including police officers and firefighters, are required or obligated to help or protect you from anything Also there's always something called 'insurance'
the fuck? they don't have to help someone!? SO THEY AT ANY FUCKING POINT COULD SAY "NO FUCK YOU" TO SOMEONE GETTING RAPED IN AN ALLEY? Fuck that shit fuck
People who think they should've let the house burn are assholes. :colbert:
If I were the guy, I'd totally sue. They allowed innocent animals to die, and animals have rights. Along with that, they let everything of his burn down. Fucking retards should've put out the fire.
Someone get the number, I want to call these faggots up and tell them they're gigantic douchebag faggots
What a pile of shit worth of firefighters. Such a disgrace.
That's a pretty dick move
You see, this is why socialism is nice. House is on fire? Pay up fucker. No? Your baby is dead now. Your baby is dead because OLD PEOPLE DENYING SOCIALISM.
Fyi, legally they are bound to rescue humans so if a person was in there they would've saved them. Their trailer was OUTSIDE of the city. The money is automatically deducted from taxes if you live in the city. If you live in the county (which does not have a FD fyi) you are offered the service for $75 a year. If you don't pay it then too bad kiddos. Same thing as paying for health or automotive insurance. You are free to do whatever you want with yourself or your automobile but don't expect to have help when you knowingly do not buy insurance.
Wouldn't the world be great if the police were like "Well you didn't pay the fee so we won't bother finding the murderer"? [editline]04:11AM[/editline] "So what if you got beaten half to death by Johnny here, you didn't pay the fee" [editline]04:12AM[/editline] "Your stepfather raped you? Well have fun because we're telling him that you told us because you forgot to pay the fee" [editline]04:13AM[/editline] "Police brutality? Hah! No fee!"
So if you were holding a fire extinguisher watching a cat burning to death, you wouldn't put it out because the owner didn't give you a dollar?
Cat no, dog yes. On a serious note though, is my fire extinguisher funded by other people who properly pay for OPTIONAL services?
Cat no, dog yes. On a serious note though, is my fire extinguisher funded by other people who properly pay for OPTIONAL services?
On a more serious note, would you enjoy being burned to death trapped in a house because your daddy forgot to pay his fire department?
Hurr a durr.
Well that just shows that you think that animals shouldn't be saved simply because they're not humans.
Well that just shows that you think that animals shouldn't be saved simply because they're not humans.
No, I'm making the point that animals are legally contended as property versus human life. Property is covered by PAYED insurance. If you are dying to have the right to be accepted into a hospital since you are human. I honestly don't agree with the way it was handled, but legally there is nothing you can do. They didn't pay the $75 for the optional service so they faced the consequences.

[editline]04:34AM[/editline]
I honestly don't agree with the way it was handled, but legally there is nothing you can do.
Then why the fuck are you arguing my same fucking opinion?
That pisses me off.

[editline]04:34AM[/editline] Then why the fuck are you arguing my same fucking opinion?
In the real world legality > morality. Sad but true. You can't do anything about it. I am the devil's advocate, but legally you can't do jackshit.
In the real world legality > morality.
In the real world you lose your house and dog and they don't come back, stuff doesn't work like in The Sims. [editline]04:39AM[/editline] Firefighters of all people should know that. [editline]04:42AM[/editline] The only thing your discussion here taught me is that if I see someone choking on a piece of food I shouldn't save him because I wasn't paid to do so. [editline]04:46AM[/editline] And "legally" this deparment is getting a really good reputation now for letting houses burn down when they're capable of putting them out. So I'm sure the owner is thrilled about that they didn't help those pesky non-payers.
Isn't Capitalism great!?
This has less to do with capitalism and more to do with small government. Donation run fire departments have generally worked well up until recently when they have had to switch over to fees.
how much of a dick do you have to be to not put out fires because they didn't pay some fee? why didn't they just bill him later? shit if I had a hose I'd put out the fire for free and then donate money because their stuff was on fire
You sound quite enraged.
Was that your goal? [editline]05:10AM[/editline] And if finding multiple reasons as to why something is wrong = enraged, then sure. You won.
Was that your goal?
No, my goal was simply to state that legally it was 100% within the rights of the FD and the firefighters to stand there and watch the house burn to the ground. Morally it is obviously wrong but legally they were 100% correct in doing so.

This is a troll if I ever saw one.
Asking me if I was enraged after arguing the opinion you agreed with and then continue arguing? This is a troll if I ever saw one.
Not really, I'm 100% validly stating that it was 100% within the legal powers of the FD and firefighters to stand and watch the house fall to ashes.
Stop feeding the troll.
Stop feeding the troll.
I chuckled a bit actually. Do you not understand how to read and compile other people's statements? I stated that morally it was obviously wrong for the firefighters to stand by and watch the house burn. Legally, however, the firefighters were well within the legal course of action. Oh, I also believe I mentioned something about the world not being perfect and that in reality legality > morality.
