This made me sad because my stupid sister does this shit all the time. I've been in the car with her whilst she's belting down the motorway at 80km/h. To make matters worse, it's an iPhone, so it's a damn touchscreen keypad. I yell at her all the time cause it's fucking stupid. I swear, when I get my own car, I'm just gonna leave my fucking phone on the side and answer it at traffic lights or whenever I get the chance. Texting whilst driving is just pants-on-head retarded.
silly bitch
I text and drive at times, but never going beyond 45 mph. At higher speeds, you need complete attention to the roads.
No, you need complete attention all the time. Stop texting and driving. If the message is that important, pull over.
It pisses me off how people use their phone's while driving it's just stupid. I remember once we were going somewhere with work, so there was a few cars and the ones in front of us sped off, and our driver was complaining they were speeding. Then the fuckwit gets his phone out to tell them to slow down. Complete fucking idiot
This reminds me of my mom. I send her a message, and she sometimes replies with "Can't reply, driving" And I'm like, "Uh, ok?"

Ban Facebook
I text and drive at times, but never going beyond 45 mph. At higher speeds, you need complete attention to the roads. That woman was just an idiot and she paid the price for it.
Put the damn phone down. You're a hazard to everyone else on the road. the only time I answer texts behind the wheel is when I'm waiting at a red light, which means I'm not moving and thus not going to crash into anyone, and that's only to send "At a red light, text you when I arrive". Rest of the time my phone spends it's time propped up against the dashboard with a GPS Speedometer app up because the one in my dash doesn't work :v:
Darwin award, nowww
Her funeral service http://www.facebook.com/events/314142288627904/
The way she died and making a public event like that is just yanking the dogs chain at this point.
This reminds me of my mom. I send her a message, and she sometimes replies with "Can't reply, driving" And I'm like, "Uh, ok?"
There should be a button or setting that automatically tells people that you are driving if they try to call or text you.
There should be a button or setting that automatically tells people that you are driving if they try to call or text you.
no, people need to disconnect from their phones distraction.
Deserves no pitty because she was also placing in danger everyone around her at the time.
what a piece of fuck
It's the opposite of irony. It would be ironic if she wrote "Driving and facebooking IS safe! Haha." but she wrote "Driving and facebooking is not safe! Haha." so it's not ironic.

Haha." but in doing so somehow managed to avoid an accident she would have otherwise been caught in. Say, the distraction causes her to swerve off the road, only for the semi-truck to swerve into her lane to avoid another vehicle. The irony is that if she hadn't texted, she would still be in that lane and have gotten struck by the truck, but since she did and ended up off the road, the truck missed her.
"Driving and facebooking is not safe! Haha. Here, let me demonstrate for you!"
The irony is so fucking awesome.
[editline]6th March 2012[/editline] I feel sorry for her because she died so young, but not sorry cause she knew the dangers, and still did it anyway.
What a complete retard.

As cold as it may sound I just have no sympathy for anyone who is stupid enough to do that. I think the dumbest thing I've seen someone do behind the wheel was one genius was typing out a full blown business email while driving. Had the laptop set up in the drivers seat and everything. It would be a grim bet that she's the type that's not going to change until she has an accident or God forbid, kills someone in said accident. Sometimes it takes something absolutely horrible to break someone of a stupid habit. Where it dawns on them that it was all their fault because they were texting while driving.
I don't want to say anything bad because, y'know, she died. But goddamn she's an idiot.
Oh no, we lost a moron
Natural selection at it's best.
texting while driving is ridiculously stupid, i know about 3 people who've crashed because they've been texting and have even been in a car crash because the dickhead driving thought it was more important to text his girlfriend than keep his eyes on the road. I can understand texting at a red light or something because all your gonna do at worst is piss the people behind you off if you miss the green but it's obviously not an important conversation if they're texting and not calling
Her funeral service http://www.facebook.com/events/314142288627904/
"This girl died using Facebook too much. So let's announce her funeral on Facebook." So much sense. So much.
Someone should try and find the post on Facebook.
I found her profile, but I think it must have been a private message. Then again, she has that stupid 'Timeline' thing, and I barely know anything about how Facebook works.
Love how the OP framed the message to make her look absolutely retarded. No one so far seems to realize the fact that she was actually STOPPING the conversation (assuming it was a "conversation"; we don't know how long this had been going on), for the sake of safety. Are you really going to take the ridiculous position that sending one short text in order to politely end a conversation makes you a reckless hipster douchebag? (I include "hipster" because I believe that's where a lot of the popular hatred is coming from here.)

Texting to say "I can't text I'm driving" is texting while driving, not stopping the conversation. No matter what the goal was, she was still taking her eyes off the road to make sure her friend knew that she was busy, which not responding probably would have done.
