It's nice to see Islamaphobia is well alive on Facepunch and people justify it by calling anyone who calls them out a "stupid SJW". Islam is hardly the problem, it's people using the religion for their perverted ways and campaigns.
I must've missed the part where I wrote something I actually didn't. Nice try mate. Call it what you want, if you're willing to write long diatribes about how backwards and oppressive christianity is in a country where the church is divorced from the state and has been for a very long time, but you walk on eggshells around Islam - a religion that is a functional STATE ideology in the majority of Arab and central Asian countries - for fear of being called a ~RACIST~ or ~ISLAMOPHOBE~ you're a coward and a hypocrite. Again, why on FP is it generally the case that the very people who post long diatribes about the evils of christianity, don kid gloves or shut the fuck up completely when it comes to Islam?
Sooo what you're saying is Muslims have no self-control?
Self-control is something applied to the individual not the group, what kind of idiotic generalisation is this? It's like saying why is "Thou shalt not kill" even a commandment, don't people have any self-control?

Society would collapse if we weren't ordered by god to do specific things.

Most people on Facepunch, I assume, are from the west where if you're an Atheist, you're going to be highly critical to that religion especially when you have some bible thumpers in government. Obviously you can be Christian and not be one of these crazy, just they every other religion. The issue with Islamphobia and why people are critical to it is because of the consequences that come with it. Take post 9/11 when heavy generalisations lead to, not even Muslims, but Sikhs being attacked or killed because people couldn't tell the difference. Look at how much Christianity has changed over the years and how many followers are willing to accept changes in society. Hell, look at the Pope and how progressive he has been. Who's to say Islam can't do the same, and hasn't? A lot of muslims living in western countries have become moderate over the years and can function in our world along side many of our new ideas. Most of the problems you see with Islam come from how the region itself is (Incredibly unstable and poor) combined with the whole religious theocracy thing. This is why you see so many moderate muslims in a place like the United States who aren't causing any problems with the world. And really, any religion that runs a state is going to end up looking bad. That's just what terrible theocracies look like because they cling to old ideas and refuse to adapt. A Christian, Jewish, or any Theocracy that has had as long of a standing as some in the Middle East would look just as bad as a country like Saudi Arabia. I say these things because calling it a "terrible religion" just breeds awful thoughts that can potentially lead to harm someone, like how any prejudice against certain people can. You're just fueling the problem by alienating these people and causing other people to want to do so. Nowhere have I ever said on Facepunch that Christianity is a terrible religion. People are free to believe what they believe as long as they don't hinder progress of us as a people, which there are plenty of Muslims who do not. Most people probably talk about how Christianity is terrible is because they can relate to it more and has a bigger factor on their personal life living in the United States/Any European country. TL;DR Religion is not the problem, there are more important factors. Stop taking things at face value when you see "Islamic Terrorist" in the headlines. Edit: Here's a nice article that sums things up. http://www.cfr.org/councilofcouncils/global_memos/p33347
Or maybe they're calling it an attack on free speech because there are people holding signs literally saying: "To insult is NOT freedom" "Freedom of speech = Hatred to Muslims" "Absolute freedom of speech - no such thing!" Technically the last one is correct, but it's in regard to shouting fire in a crowded movie theater or actively threatening someone, not drawing a picture someone perceives as an insult. And I do like the people holding up the signs saying "Learn some manners". It's just so nice, simple, and straightforward compared to the other signs.
I absolutely love the learn some manners sign.

It's like saying why is "Thou shalt not kill" even a commandment, don't people have any self-control?
Because look at it this way. Most of the Abrahamic religions tell you that there's certain things you shouldn't do, like rape people. In the case of certain Muslim-majority countries, if a man rapes a woman, it's her fault because "she was tempting him". Since he's been charged with his religion to not rape someone, he succumbs to the temptation to rape and the person he raped is somehow at fault. So to use your comparison it's more like "Hey it's not my fault I killed him, he shouldn't have ran out of blood!"
Nobody cares if your feelings are hurt. Freedom of expression is far more valuable than your hurt feelings. People should be free to draw whatever they want, and it isn't up to you to censor the "offensive" drawings.
