8-12 an hour is not unreasonable. I have skills I can use if I can just get around the whole 'oh you need 2+ years of experience' hurdle. I can do work worth that sort of wage just fine, and honestly, it's not unreasonable of me to desire a job that pays that. IT's barely more than minimum fucking wage.
Not only that, but I can't get any formal experience. Not even at fucking McDonalds. Every two weeks since 2007 I've thrown apps at literally every business within 50 miles of my house that has a help wanted sign up and get nothing. They don't even have the balls to give me a fucking rejection letter. In that time I've had three responses, of those three, only one really went anywhere. The shop foreman at the trucking company my dad drives for was all ready to hire me, hell if it had been up to him I'd be turning wrenches on semi trucks right now. But no, corporate refused to let him hire me and forced him to take someone he didn't feel would fit the job. Why? I don't have two years as a line cook at a fast food joint on my resume. Simple as that.
So I guess it's totally unreasonable to want a job that makes enough money that I don't have to drive around in a car with 300,000+ miles on it? That I can make enough money to not be on the 'don't get hurt' health plan? That I can make enough money to not have to leech off my parents well into my mid 20s, that I can pay my own bills and pay my way through school?
It isn't. You and anyone saying the same thing are the ones being unreasonable. 8-12 an hour is not something 'in the stars' or 'too high' for someone with my skillset(In particular, fixing things, and all I have to do to prove it is point to the $500 beater I've been driving since 2007). I have the necessary skills to earn 8-12 an hour 40 hours a week. It's not unreasonable for me to want a job that'll fucking pay me that.
I am glad that the selfish ignorance that defines conservatism is a dying trend.

Skillsets don't mean anything without some kind of certificate to back it up in the job market. And why college? Why not a tech school? It's hands on and you like repairing things. Also a smaller investment and greater return than college for most people. You're basically gauranteed a well paying job by the end of the program.

About 0.40 or so, based on the outdated information i could find on the value of the Russian stock market and Americas GNP.

Don't have the balls to give you a rejection letter? They'd have to send one to you and 500 other people every month - that's a lot of effort for what it's worth.
And 3 responses in 7 years? That's absurd, you've got to be doing something wrong, not to mention the fact that 7 years of unemployment looks terrible on a CV.

He probably doesn't get any responses because his CV probably looks terrible in general.

You mean
-I sent the manager a letter asking him for an interview where I could showcase all my apps that I have designed, talked about what I can do and what I expect from a employee perspective?
or
-sent the mail asking for a job with my apps attached?
These are 2 different things. Totally different.

100% Agree
100% Disagree.
It basically depends on the guy, where he lives and if he is a competent or a lazy motherfucker. Yes, not bothering to send mail after mail or saving to get out of somewhere barely alive makes you a lazy motherfucker.
I mean, look, a guy graduating from an university in Spain is going to have some trouble finding a work, and even if he finds it, how much? No more than 1600 euros.... However, if that same guy, with the education he got, comes to Argentina or LATAM, he will granted a first job that will net him the money he would have got after working 5-10 years in his country.
My Colombian cousin (in-law), is 17 years old and he already knows this. He is currently living in the USA and has no plans to stay there once he graduates. He will prosper and be WAY much more successful in Colombia than in the United States.
Sure wish that entrance level jobs paid a living wage.
Can you show me any time in US history where entry level jobs paid full cost of living? They are entry level for a reason, don't like the entry level pay? Get a better one or get a second job, or hell do what people have been doing for the last <large number> of years and get a room mate, I mean seriously it decreases your cost of living by nearly half and makes things so much easier.

Unless you are literally the size of a planet, have mispellings on resume(seriously we laugh at the all the time at my work)/shit email address, do not groom yourself, or dress professionally for an interview. Or you could be that one guy who didn't realize his YT profile pic is also your default GMail pic; this sounds fishy. Also state employment offices work wonders so do contract agencies.

Volunteer and fix your CV. I refuse to believe that you being unemployed for almost 8 years isn't partly your fault.
Even volunteering at a soup kitchen for a few hours a week shows that you have the initiative and motivation to go out and work, rather than playing games for 7 hours a day.

I misread this the first time around. There's no way you're actually doing that, and if you are, you'll probably never get hired because all the employers think you're crazy at this point. Like has your resume even changed in 7 years? I'd think after a year or two you'd change your tactics a bit. Like get a loan, go to school ( preferably not college) and get your life going.
Like get a loan
Why the fuck would you get a loan if you don't have any way to pay it off? That's a godawful idea and a good way to end up with a destroyed credit rating and in debt.

It's called a student loan. This is like life 101. You get one to pay for your education like I and many others do since education in north america is expensive as fuck. Then you pay it off when complete your course and have a job in your field. Helps if you get a degree /diploma which is in high demand.

I tried to go to school without loans and failed spectacularly, it just isn't possible to pay for rent, books, food, and tuition all at the same time when you only have time for 1 full time job.
After thinking about it very hard I decided to go for the loans. I figured that if the economy is so horrible when I graduate that I can't even get a decent job after a bachelor's degree, then I would be fucked either way and if I'm going to be poor then at the very least I'm going to be an educated beggar.
Actually now that I'm thinking about it I'm really stressed out, just thinking that I'm putting all of this effort and time into something that might not even pay off just makes me sick to my stomach.
Remember when everyone was spouting

I sure love how Obama has been getting criticized since 2008 for failing to deliver economic recovery, yet when such recovery occurs critics are so dismissive. What a useless double standard.
We should know by now that the president himself has little control over oil production/prices, much less the economy as a whole. Just maybe, if critics aren't willing to admit when their own conditions have been met, perhaps they shouldn't set those conditions in the first place. Let's drop the posturing and get back to discussing real issues already.

congressional and political leaders criticize the president not because they actually think he's hindering economic progress but more because they want to be re-elected, and the public is uninformed and uneducated enough about basic civics that they gladly and willingly eat it up.
it's the scapegoat effect in practice, just the same as some liberals did to g.w.
How much is that in Russian Stock Markets?
Actually, the values that I just calculated based on the increase in GDP and the value of the russian stock market 7 days ago, the amount of increase is around 2.5 Russian Stock Markets.
No matey, if you want a decent job you need work experience first. Then you can find a job which will give you a living wage (which isn't as important if you still live with parents).
Sure is easy to say that when you live in a country where you can work part time $20 an hour at McDonalds.
And the huge amounts of help with education and free health care. And you can get very cheap rent through Housing. And if you ever fail you can always fall back on Centrelink and be fine.
But nah fuck Americans they don't understand the hard life they are just lazy

While this is mostly true, this also depends on where you're located and what trade you get into. I got into HVAC over 3 years ago, and while I could be making $15 an hour or more in other parts of the country easy, I'm "only" making $11/hr. Not complaining though, it's enough that I don't have to live with my parents anymore.
Hopefully the middle and lower classes see this growth, and not the top percenters as have in the past.
So, is this a result of the lower gas prices? If so, thanks Saudi Arabia.
