The issue with the instant explosion is that there would be a mile of degree scattered about from a commercial plane exploding at altitude.

This one is just as bad.
Can we not post irrelevant-to-this-case flight recordings please
The issue with the instant explosion is that there would be a mile of degree scattered about from a commercial plane exploding at altitude.
a mile of what
Wow, I read somewhere in wikipedia that the FAA is debating whether to civilize vectorial trust. I imagine it would do wonders in cases such like the United Airlines one
a mile of what
debris
Should check this one out 189 of the nearly 300 people survived. An engine basically exploded and caused all the hydraulics to fail. The only thing these pilots could do to control the aircraft was use the remaining 2 engines Pretty good fuckin' effort on the pilot's parts

Fitch: I'll tell you what, we'll have a beer when this is all done. Haynes: Well I don't drink, but I'll sure as shit have one Sioux City Approach: United Two Thirty-Two Heavy, the wind's currently three six zero at one one; three sixty at eleven. You're cleared to land on any runway. Haynes: [laughter] Roger. [laughter] You want to be particular and make it a runway, huh?
The plane probably crashed because of the overweight caused by their testicles.
maybe it landed at an airport in the middle of bumfuck, china?
Maybe it landed at an airport in the middle of Bumfuck, North Korea? That would be a fucking mess.
Maybe it landed at an airport in the middle of Bumfuck, North Korea? That would be a fucking mess.
not funny
not funny
I wasn't at all kidding. I could see DPRK nationals stealing an airliner and then Un trying to ransom the people off.
I wasn't at all kidding. I could see DPRK nationals stealing an airliner and then Un trying to ransom the people off.
Then the plane would still appear on radar. Talking about radars. The logs on the military radar says the plane may have tried to turn around. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/09/malaysia-airlines-radar-idUSL3N0M605320140309
I wasn't at all kidding. I could see DPRK nationals stealing an airliner and then Un trying to ransom the people off.
Yeah, taking over a hundred (IIRC) citizens of your sole ally hostage is the best foreign policy ever.
Rated disagree (sorry!) and then re-read and rated agree. Although aircraft can "drop off the scope" due to reasons other than it breaking up/suffering structural failure. That said, it's looking most probable that something unexpected has happened to this flight.
Interested to know why people rated dumb. As far as I know, having flown for a number of years, a winglet falling off an airplane would have no dramatic affect on performance. The poster is entirely correct in his statement that loosing a winglet would result in a dramatic loss of control.

wouldn't a phone go straight to voicemail if the phone is off the grid? if it's ringing then it's on the grid somewhere
Or they're getting a voice mailbox and don't realize it has nothing to do with the phone being active or intact.
Don't know how it is over there, but if you turn your phone off here you get no ringing at all, just an instant mailbox connection. The article is a little vague, but by 'the call got connected' I take it to mean the phone actually rang, which in my experience tends to mean the destination phone is still on and active.
The plane probably crashed because of the overweight caused by their testicles.
Haha. It's hard to believe that what essentially caused this crash was just a tiny bit of excess nitrogen gas when the Titanium ingot, used in the #2 fanblade, was made

I like how a bunch of people cringed up when they saw Radiohead. Anywho, I was listening to the recordings of the other crashed and it really just makes me sad hearing that kind of thing. Bummer.
There sure were a lot of Wangs on that plane.
Imagine that moment from the cockpit where you're literally looking at the water, looking at an almost inevitable death - and there's nothing you can possibly do to stop it. Truly, truly terrifying.
BREAKING NEWS:Vietnamese officials says yellow object seen in search for Flight MH370 is not related to plane's disappearance (Source: BBC News)
I heard this earlier today and got really disappointed. If the door was adrift, then there was a possible chance that some people escaped on the emergency slides (they can be used as life rafts).
