Are you trolling us? If not, then this shit just got serious
They have supported SK for a LONG time now. This doesn't make it any more serious than it was before...
What a lot of people dont realize is that in North Korea, recieved aid and trade goes to its massive army FIRST then to the middle class, then finally to the poor. Cutting off the trade is not going to affect the poor nearly as much as people think. Also, North Korea isnt stupid enough to do anything to South Korea. Well actually I take that back, if Kim Jong Il is pushed into a corner, no one knows what he could do as a last resort. But North Korea is totally alone now, the world doesnt want anything to do with their bullshit anymore. China helping North Korea is essentially economic suicide, which isnt worth helping a stupid "ally" that no one takes seriously. The only country I could see being on that side would be Iran, but they aint got shit compared to the rest of the world economic and military powers (US, UK, Germany, South Korea, Japan, France, and Russia).
Not really. Ideally they would enter the conflict on the SK/US side. Well, ideally there wouldn't be a conflict. But I'd really like to see a conflict with Russia and the United States working closely together. We are actually pretty similar in a lot of ways. With some work put into relations between the two nations, we could emerge as an extremely powerful alliance.
And with the tension around that anti-missile system, they sort of need that kind of bonding.
Just heard from news that US supports SK ( with military aid )
Uhh, we've pretty much supported them during the Korean War and ever since it 'ended'. We have tens of thousands of troops stationed in South Korea, and even more in Japan that could easily be called to the conflict if it resumes.
Looks like the Korean war is going to resume again.
SK and NK go at it then china goes *brofist* to NK by giving them military supplies while Japan and America do the same with SK Honestly i don't think we will acutally send our troops to help fight but we will supply them with an all you can fit into storage buffet of weapons, ammo and armor.
Can shit PLEASE hit the fan soon enough? I mean, it's not that I want people to die in a war... But I absolutely hate to see North Korea doing all this bullshit, and nobody does anything about it because of some complex grid of alliances. You know, sometimes you just need to hit the restart button. NK seriously needs a reset. Open up the borders, all they gotta do is melt a bit. Just move it arrooound!
Governments don't make open policies outlining the diplomatic price of their soldiers. I'd find it outrageous if my nation's soldiers were killed, for no reason, and we continued open trade regardless.
You'd hate Britain then. "OK America if you're surely sure it was an accident and you're sorry then it's OK" [editline]10:29PM[/editline] NK is desperately trying to get the South to attack them. They think they've got an ace up their sleeve, but they'll just get annihilated.
You'd hate Britain then. "OK America if you're surely sure it was an accident and you're sorry then it's OK"
Friendly Fire incidents and open acts of aggression are obviously different circumstances.
Well considering the whole X years behind on technolgy thing It would be really easy to do flyer runs like in WW2 and maybe packages filled with wow free 30day cards.
South Korea can't do shit to North Korea. It's SK's superpower allies that can, though.
It will be night vision apache action on liveleak with hellfire missiles and flying north korean bodyparts.
Good job South Korea :)
Nothing is going to happen
China doesn't give a crap about North Korea or its people. The only reason they'd trade with them is to make money. The Cold War alliances are pretty much void now.
They're official allies with military dependencies. Your statement is 100% false and backed by nothing; unsurprising.
In 1967, the two countries signed the "Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance" ("中朝友好合作互助条约"), whereby China pledged to immediately render military and other assistance by all means to its ally against any outside attack.[4] This treaty was prolonged twice, in 1981 and 2001, with a validity till 2021.
Dreamed about this the other night. Dreamed I was in Seoul, visiting. War didn't break out, but the only thing I was thinking was "Oh god, I have to get the fuck out of here." Yeah, I'm guessing that it isn't as exciting as it is to Seoul as it is to the rest of the world. The last time fighting broke out, the only reason North Korea repelled the attack was because China sent in somewhere around 900,000 troops- more than the North Koreans themselves had for homeland defense, and the largest amount that ANY of the contenders sent in. I'd say if war breaks out, the only danger we have is China- we just have to hope that they decide not to get involved.
^ China getting involved in this conflict against the US would defy logic.
40 men =//= 200million in trades? thats means every south korean sailor is worth 5 million dollars. A bit aggresive.
So how much does a sailor have to be worth before it isn't aggressive? It isn't like an all voluntary force either And for those wondering, NK or SK winning the last war... The war never technically ended and is still pseudo on-going, but all you have to do is look at both nations and you can see which one came out on top Also, it's better that this happens now, rather than 10 years from now, when China may actually get by without relying on America from an economic standpoint, I hope it does break out in war because it'll be far less harsh now than later
Would there be any reason for Russia to back North Korea if a conflict actually does happen?
Absolutely no chance. Russia would have no reason to side with North Korea. They'd probably actually side with the South. The one reason I would like this war to happen, is that it would give the people of North Korea a chance to start a democratic nation and not have to live under the crazy dictatorship they have. But I feel there would be a large loss of life. As for who would win, it is inevitable that North Korea would lose the conflict. The only chance they'd have is if China joined them, but I think the chances of that happening are VERY low. Chances are, nothing will come of this though.
nothing will happen

Why would they fucking be trading with them in the first place
Shit startin to get serious and shit is gonna hit the fan....
40 men =//= 200million in trades? thats means every south korean sailor is worth 5 million dollars. A bit aggresive.
boy, you must be stupid or something. Why do you trade with a COUNTRY that sunk your WARSHIP and killed your SAILORS? You must fail to understand the concept of a country.
Why would they fucking be trading with them in the first place
Because South Korea wants a peaceful reunification, and their initial hope was to start forging that path with economic cooperation.
North Korea acts like they live in the 50s. North Korea: GRR GRR WE PURE JUSTICE COMMUNISM WILL RULE WITH OUR ALLIES China: Whatever dude, busy making plastic. Russia: Um, we're no longer Communist, we changed 20 years ago. Cuba: What's happening? Sorta been zoned out. What? United States: :rolleye: South Korea: Shut up stupid.
