anyone who doesn't instantly believe everything they're told by people who constantly lie is a conspiracy theorist, thanks for clearing that up for me.

it'd be pretty hard to theorize a conspiracy without being a conspiracy theorist bro

you remember when everyone who believed that area 51 existed was a ''conspiracy nut''?..... then we found it.

Area 51 was honestly pretty well known, they just never acknowledged its existence or purpose. Frankly, many people knew what it was though.

so were you just asleep from the 1990 to 2000 because in those years a vast majority of the human populace seen area 51 as a fictional piece of pop culture and disregarded anyone who thought it was real.

having an open mind and questioning things you're told is not ''theorizing'' anything. your logic is basically that you can either blindly believe literally everything you're told or be a conspiracy theorist.

Maybe if you had said the 1950s/1960s, I might believe you. The Groom Lake base has always been pretty well known, its just that the people that make a big deal about it and act like its genuinely something worth mentioning at any point are lunatics raving about alien crafts and lizard men.

how is it not worth mentioning? have you seen the shit they do to keep people away?
how is it not worth mentioning? have you seen the shit they do to keep people away?
Its an aircraft testing facility and military base. You can't just walk up to a fucking military base and be expected to be let in. More to the point, you can't be expected to be let in to one of the most important testing facilities for experimental aircraft. Its a massive fucking security risk and you'd be either stupid or naive to think you'd be allowed near it.

I don't know how somebody is meant to get scientific evidence of something like this. it's just a guy speaking his mind, saying ''hey, maybe all these people aren't going insane and opening fire on crowds of people for no reason''. it's just something to think about. if we don't question things then we're going to continue on the path of enslaving ourselves. and where is your evidence that the story that runs on the news is true? all we really know is, 28 people are dead and the guy was mentally ill. everything else is technically speculation. should I call you a lunatic for believing that he killed them for no reason?

I'm aware but the things they do to keep people out are drastically different from other places with similar descriptions. if you go near the base a white truck stalks you and if you pass a certain point they start firing shots with a .50 cal to scare you off. it's just weird. some people find that shit interesting, doesn't make them lunatics.

Taking tiny details that are dubious flaws at best and making them seem like glaring gaps is bad. The fact you say we are on a path of enslavement is pretty vocal in its own way. And the speculation part is where experts in the field come in, forensic investigators, crime labs, forensic psychologists. Then it is handed off to courts to determine if the work those experts have done is up to par and thorough. And no, it would be improper to call me that because there are a lot of cases historically of people with preexisting mental instability shooting up schools, malls, just about everything really.

Having someone follow you is just to report anyone trying to approach the base in advance, in case someone were to try and plow a carbomb in to front gate or anything, the base has ample warning. Considering it is, as said, one of the most important aircraft testing facilities, that seems pretty run of the mill.

doubt it.
doubt it.
They will fire warning shots to be sure, but by that point you've seen at least one sign, and more than likely several, saying pretty much exactly what will happen. You know well in advance what you are getting in to and it is your choice to continue approaching. There are plenty of people who want to get up close to the base and see it for themselves and will ignore signs. But a warning shot is a lot harder to ignore.

maybe it seems sudden and random to you, but people have been making claims like this for a long time, pretty much since JFK and John Lennon. the sandy hook shooting seems to fit the bill with the theories these people have. without speculating whether or not the government actually does this, consider this, why wouldn't they? has the U.S government come off as morally conscious to you? the more of this shit happens to more scared people get and the easier it is to disarm and oppress people. look at the reaction in the media, this is exactly what the government wants, so what is so implausible about this? do you understand how easy it would be to brain wash mentally ill people with government resources?

ok but what I'm saying is most people don't hear about things like that happening anywhere else. some people just find it interesting, so it's pretty illogical for you to claim that anyone who mentions area 51 is a ''lunatic''.
Good thing he isn't a nut job who automatically blames the government

There will always be people dissatisfied with the answers they are given and looking for something bigger. People want meaning for their actions and often times there just isn't. Its simpler to believe there is some big plan guiding life than to face the fact that there really isn't, that more often than not shit just happens. It will fit the bill for just about any theory because they are designed to apply to almost any situation. They are intentionally vague on details, yet convoluted in premise so as to make the issue confusing to approach. And being so vague means that it can be applied to almost any incident with minor changes. The government frankly has everything to lose if they were to do something like this. An incident of mass tragedy is confusing and hard to control. People will direct their emotion on to anything and everything, and its hard to effect any substantive change when you cannot predict the flow of events. But the revelation that the government were responsible? That gives the people a focal point, it gives them something to concentrate their anger and sadness on to. The backlash would be intense and trust would be lost for an incredibly long time. You'd see rioting and resistance everywhere in response to a revelation like that. Instead of gaining control, they'd lose it. The gains do no outweigh the losses by any stretch of the imagination.

So of course you won't hear about it. There are also not many installations on the level of Groom Lake.

What's so implausible? How about how for what this guy says to be true, the government would have to be somehow simultaneously borderline omnipotent and too incompetent to function.

you can keep coming up with logical reasons why it happens but I'm not trying to debate that. it's just that you branded the title of ''lunatic'' onto anyone who thinks area 51 is worth mentioning.

I don't see where that logic comes from, because if we assume they ARE responsible then their plan is working completely flawlessly at the moment.
It isn't worth mentioning. There is nothing to really say about it at any point outside of discussion of the subjects of maybe aviation, history, or sociology (which is to say, the broad topic of conspiracies, and using those around Groom Lake as a specific area to study.)

I'm doubting his claim that security is any different than that at other high security installations... it simply isn't.
I don't see where that logic comes from, because if we assume they ARE responsible then their plan is working completely flawlessly at the moment.
This is absolutely horrible logic. "Well, if we assume!" Stop, don't just make blind hypotheticals and try to use them as substantive talking points. By just making random hypotheticals, you can come to literally any conclusion. I could spend ten minutes and come up with a scenario that paints the shootings as the work of the Canadian government. Or of Anonymous. Or of anyone.

some people find woody allen's movies interesting. that doesn't make them mentally ill, that just makes them stupid.
I'm doubting his claim that security is any different than that at other high security installations... it simply isn't.
Its certainly not worth mentioning. It does lend any credence to the idea that Groom Lake is something important to the American populace either.
