not really
Early peoples are estimated to have bathed in any fresh water source they had available and the time when soap became available is widely debated as it could have been before written human history by a large, large amount. Natural soap was actually easy to come by in the form of weak lye that came from burning animals, fats, woods and etc.

I'm skeptical of the details to say the least, unless the cure to cancer and all ailments is smoking animal poop. But seriously, since he's lived this long he must be doing something right in the terms of his body receiving the necessary nutrients to survive and function. Sketchy, could always be lying about some of the details etc.

Ironically, the thick layer of soil on his skin is definitely better for him than if he had clean skin like the rest of us. Provides a nice protectorant against bacteria that might otherwise fester in his pores or in crevices. Obviously that's still happening, but unless he gets a massive laceration, he doesn't have to worry about infection. The dirt itself is not harmful, and smoking animal feces isn't inherently dangerous, no more so than smoking any organic non-toxic product.
Though his urinary tract is probably shot to hell.
I want to see how he looks with a good scrubbing and styled by stylists.
