I work at a small, local dive shop with about 15 employees, part-time or otherwise, which means Harvard for me!
I applied for McDonald's and their hiring day.
Didn't get hired :smith:
Think of it this way.
You would have gotten in Harvard.
You applied to McDonald's.
Kids in California are absolutely FUCKED if they want a part time job this summer.
Want this job to build job experience? Sorry! We're only looking for people with prior job experience!
I already have a job at Mcdonalds bitchs, been working there for the past three and a half years :smug:
God I hate it :smith:
I had a hard time finding a job after I got graduated from highschool 3 years ago, I put in applications everywhere and not one single company called me, until recently last 2 months, wal-mart called me about my application about when am I available to work, and I said "any" and then she said "oooooookkkkkkkk....." then she hanged up on me :/, I call back 2 days later and they only got position open for people greeter and cart pusher, I wanted cart pusher but they never called me back...
Mcdonald's did not hire me after 2-3 applications I filled, Best buy won't hire me after I did about 2-3 applications, Aerotek won't hire me, Wal-Mart won't really hire me, Factory Card/Party Outlit didn't hire me... I have to go to a temp service or go military.
I was the same until I sat down and had a good hard think about what to do.
The best thing I could come up with was to wait until the Christmas holidays (which is the southern hemispheres summer school holiday) and applied at a small Big W, which is a chain like kmart if you have either where you are from. Bam, first try I got a job
Just think about what time of year is busiesst and apply at a store which is likely to be understaffed. There are ~6 stores like Big W within half an hour of my house, 2 within 2 minutes, so I applied at the store that was in the smaller shopping center.
You have to be smart about it and plan it out if you really want the job
This is really stupid.
Getting a job is alot of luck getting into Harvard required alot of hard work.
Stupid article.

I hate it when people say the same thing twice in the same post like an idiot.
Especially when people like you say the same thing over.
Did I tell you about how I hate it when people do that?
Alot of the times employers are looking for people that have experience.
It hard if you have no experience.

I work at mcdonalds, does this mean I can get into harvard?
The Harvard's acceptance rate is so high because nobody even bothers to try.
What he said. A lot of people don't even bother with Ivy league schools.
Harvard or not, any school is easier to get into than getting a job. You don't have to be perfect to get into school. You don't have to have confidence, you don't even need the SAT (depends on which school), all you really need is a steady income.
