About time they went in the mainstream direction creatively.
Doubt it will get #1 in the USA with the talent-less hacks in top 100 billboard. I however want it to.
by that logic daft punk are talentless hacks, the song is just as creative & developed as anything in the top 100 billboard
it's a watered-down disco loop for 4 minutes and it sells very well
Crap, it looks like Daft Punk are mainstream now. Gonna have to stop liking them :(
(This is a joke if you cant tell)
Get that french shit out of the charts it should be British music only like kanye west
So when is the full single coming out?
So when is the full single coming out?
Do you mean the original mix? With the album.
So when is the full single coming out?
Radio edit = single version, there is no 'full single' I don't know where this confusion has come from
So when is the full single coming out?
its already on Spotify...
Finally a decent #1. It's normally Generic Club Track no.235.
Not as good as Generic Club Track no.112
how about Generic House Track no.271
how about Generic House Track no.271
You've gone too far.
I really don't get the obsession with this song. It's funky and good, I certainly like it, but not enough to put it on my spotify list.
It's just your generic pop song #2342. You've heard it a million times before, and it's nothing like the Daft Punk we used to know.
If the exact same song was released by some other artist or band I really don't think it would take off that much.

The same can be said for every popular song ever.
how about Generic House Track no.271
Is there no end to this mans depravity?
I may not like it that much, but it's a step in the right direction for respectable pop music.
well if that step is having nile rodgers input (which is the main reason the song is even good) then yeh

I like the song, but watch as it get overplayed to levels never achieved before by Radio 1 and Capital FM.

It's 8 years since Human After All was released.
Also it's not like the TRON soundtrack was far off from their style of songs.
The only thing I get from "Get Lucky" is "Let's make a popular song to rake in some cash, fuck the fact that it's not the kind of songs we've ever made before".

You're not human after all you robotic rocking piece of technological shit.
You're not human after all you robotic rocking piece of technological shit.
uhh ok? the only decent song on there is Robot Rock and that's basically ripped wholesale from Release The Beast. it was made in two weeks and it sounds like it was made in two weeks, which wouldn't be a problem if it actually sounded decent but it could have done with a lot more work (as the revisions in Alive 2007 show)
also what popular songs are you comparing Get Lucky to? obviously it sounds like anything Nile Rodgers makes but those types of songs aren't found on the charts right now..

I don't think you noticed that I made that sentence up with 3 songs? Human After All, Robot Rock and Technologic.
I'm comparing Get Lucky to pop songs in general. Loop loop loop loop, refrain refrain refrain refrain, easy to sing a long to, keeping the vocals light and drag out the voice a lot.
And no, I'm not saying Daft Punk doesn't loop and just play on a simple phrase in many of their songs. But the expression in their music is completely different, more heavy and technological.
Get Lucky just keeps everything light and bland so everyone can like it, it blends in some of their robotic expression just for the sake of it because they're Daft Punk.

and it sounds like a pop song because it is a pop song, pop songs are not inherently bad (unlike Human After All lol), that's why they got Nile Rodgers on board. why would they get Nile Rodgers and not make a pop song. it's disco.

here's a daft punk song, this song isn't heavy or technological. it's in the vain of pop/funk songs from the 80s ala The Isley Brothers and is very easy/simple to listen to.
You're not human after all you robotic rocking piece of technological shit.
Trying way too hard with that one.
smh
They've been getting ''serious mainstream recognition'' for over 10 years.

How are they not already mainstream, literally everyone in the world (LITERALLY) has heard Around the World, One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger etc

God I love that song
make more daft please.
I certainly like Get Lucky, but I'd love more music like on Homework.
It's heaps better than most of the billboard trash out there, but it's not that good to be perfectly honest. A few listens and I'm already bored with it. And I can't get over Pharrel's vocals.
I probably was just expecting too much given all the hype.
No, Pharrell just can't sing these tones.

I don't think I was clever, I just had to clarify because of your "uhh, okay?" which I was not sure if was just you thinking I actually called you a piece of shit instead of just making a sentence out of the 3 songs I liked from the album as a way of saying that I disagree.
Something About us has a very heavy and slow beat, it uses a lot of electronic instruments and sounds, even the vocals are distorted. It's way different from Get Lucky that's just imitating what sells today.
