Syrian Security Forces Break the Hands of Political Cartoonist Ali Ferzat

What balls. If he wasn't such a fearless badass, I could easily see this "Ali Ferzat" selling them to pay for a flight to somewhere safer.
Things must be more valuable than solid gold, which they may-or-may not be made of.
Overreacted is something of a delicate way to put it.
the holocaust wasn't a genocide, it was an overreaction on hitler's behalf!
That guy is what I can call a true badass.
badass but if he's smart he won't stay in Syria any longer
he's proved his point that the people have a voice and not everyone's afraid of the government but after openly mocking them and saying "fuck you", staying just to drive that point home isn't brave or badass, it's foolish
he can have just the same social impact on his people safe in a neighboring country

Where can he go? I doubt he'll be able to get on a plane, and if he can't, he has to get into Lebanon, Turkey, or Israel.

Now, if you laugh like an intrepid hardass and then quip a whitty remark right to somebody's face, your words carry a bit more weight. Merely being there as you insult somebody adds a whole additional layer of "fuck you and the whore who birthed you," in addition to your insult itself.
It's called being a grandmaster badass, and while some can be badasses naturally, few master the ancient and arcane art.
This guy is epic.

as fucking badass as it is, it sucks because this is probably a death sentence for him

I think this guy is one of very few people who can justifiably say this and not be a douchebag.

He didn't draw this picture, his hands are broken.

From Google translate: "Dear friends, this is not a caricature of Mr. Ali Farzat fee and has no relation with it
Therefore necessary to note, thank you
A friend of Mr. Ali Farzat"

you just had to fucking ruin it didn't you
I hope it doesn't lower any of your opinions of that man, he's still badass.
Well, I guess I had a feeling that was too good to be true. I mean, how do you draw with broken hands the day after?
Still, though, that's really low for the Syrian government to break his hands. That's like taking a pianist and breaking his fingers.

Starpluck I think I found a problem.
Starpluck I think I found a problem.
Google Translator has a tendency to produce garbled/poorly written sentences, not the fucking opposite of whatever the text actually says.

Depends on the language. It turns "does" into "doesn't" quite a lot, and similar.

7:19 PM - Starpluck: اصدقائي الاعزاء ان هذا الكاريكاتير ليس من رسم الاستاذ علي فرزات و ليس له اي علاقة به
ولذلك اقتضى التنويه و شكرا

7:20 PM - mohger: My friends, I regret to inform you that this cartoon is not the art of Mr. Ali Farzat and he has nothing to do with it. Thank you, ~A friend of Mr. Farzat

I should have never clicked "page 2."
WHy hasnt anyone invaded Syria yet? They're the NK of the middle east.

I think it has to do with international pressure. As soon as someone attacks Syria, other Arab/Asian/African country's ruled by a dictator go into defence and strike back as soon as they hear their name.
