There is no better way to keep yourself out of prison than to hide the body somewhere no one will find it, let the animals tear it apart and eat most of it, then let the body sit for months so any evidence is degraded and unusable, then finally one day 'accidentally' find it and report it immediately.

Who would suspect you? How could they prove it was you? They can't, you are in the clear.
