The harder a government makes it to strike, the more strikes there will be and the more violent they'll become.
Also, responding to strikes by making it legally-harder to go on strike is downright fascism if you ask me, even in a tough economic environment. ESPECIALLY in a tough economic environment.
They're making it legally harder to strike because the Trade unions abuse their right to strike. They always try to bully the government to their demands just because the government never has enough balls to do anything other than bend to their will. Pensions were introduced for public sector workers because people in the public sector were played alot less than the same jobs in the private sector were so the pensions acted as a way to shift the balence and make it more equal as most people in the private sector don't get a mention at all Infact Most of the people in the public sector are paid more than their Private counterparts.
Perfect place for a jihad
Do you even know what the term "Jihad" means?
Wow, they should be thankful they even have jobs, I'd just fire the lot and make them come crawling back.

Fire 400,000 odd teachers and not expect a riot. k.
Nasuwut would just send a very "not nice" letter to the goverment telling how very angry they are and that they will throw a fit if they don't meet their demands. But this is thanks in no small part to the educational minister, who was a fucking journalist He is only changing things that the Sun would recommend and only doing it for the prestige.

Nothing inherently Conservative about it, though.
The UK Government is ridiculous. They can afford to get into another war and spend millions a day / multiple billions a year, yet they can't afford to properly fund the people who actually hold the country together.
