I pay £500-600 a year for my student card to get to collage (1 1/2 hours away)
Ministers are also ready to end an anomaly under which one-way tickets cost as much as returns.
this shit right here pisses me off when I need to spend the night somewhere because i need to spend twice as much for each journey because they can't get prices right [editline]20th August 2013[/editline]
next up, nationalisation
completely missed the chance to say next stop nationalisation
Trains are expensive, Buses are expensive, petrol/diesel is expensive. Traveling in the UK is expensive.
trains and buses are pretty cheap if you get year passes here in n.ireland
Buses are cheapest, i can get a return to bristol from london for £9 if i book the day before. Meanwhile the price for the train into london to get that bus is twice as much despite only being 15 miles compared to 120 to bristol.
that be true. temple meads has been royally shit recently with trains being on time and with their cancellations. Had one cancellation yesterday and one delay/cancellation/fuckup today. Nightmare.
without my rail card it would cost me almost £200 to get from Cornwall to the north of the country to see my boyfriend, rail prices are fucking ridiculous.
I'm moving from a small town in Herefordshire to Middlesbrough this year for university, the train fair is about £70 getting that cheaper would be quite handy.
