Study: The ‘gateway drug’ is alcohol, not marijuana

Vaporising weed/ eating hash is still potentially harmful to yourself or others if you do some stupid shit, but still not nearly as harmful as actually smoking the stuff. Smoking anything will absolutely demolish your lungs.

I've personally never known anyone who's done anything retarded while high that would actually harm someone, you're high man but you're not retarded.
Although that's an anecdote so take that whatever way you like.

My lungs are definitely not demolished.

Dunno, last time I was hanging out with stoners they were checking out a samurai sword and nobody got hurt. Drunk people seem to do more stupid shit than stoned people, though I've never managed to do anything overly stupid while drunk.
When your inhibition is gone of course you're more likely to do something you normally wouldn't sober, this is obvious.
Being intoxicated is not an excuse to do something stupid. I don't know about some of you guys, but I can handle all my intoxicants.

Umm, no.
A vaporizer extracts the THC through a non combustible form. No smoke to damage your lungs. THC itself is in no way harmful. Smoking anything can be potentially harmful, yes. But saying something like "Smoking anything will absolutely demolish your lungs" is just fucking retarded.
^ you mean non-combustible form, which = vapor
^ you mean non-combustible form, which = vapor
Yeah, that. Some program installed an autocorrect extension onto my chrome and it's messing up all day, didn't realize it until 10 mins ago. xD

Keep smoking weed, wait 40 years.
Keep smoking weed, wait 40 years.
it doesn't matter how long you do it, it's how often.
Jesus some people bash on alcohol like it's the root of all evil. The problem isn't the drugs, people just need to know their limits.
Limits? Fuck that, lets just ban everything. :downs:
it doesn't matter how long you do it, it's how often.
Any burning particle that you introduce to your lungs on a frequent basis will eventually do damage to them.
Ban alcohol and prescribe all the addicts to pot. but seriously, did we just figure this out? Being drunk makes you do stupid things, who would've known?? :science:
Any burning particle that you introduce to your lungs on a frequent basis will eventually do damage to them.
except your lungs heal. if you smoke once every 2 weeks or so, there will be no tar build-up or damage. cilia have time to repair as well if you take breaks. also using a bong or other cooling device reduces damage to the cilia
I remember people here saying the gateway drug theory is bullshit, did the argument making it about alcohol change peoples minds?

I see your point, but still I'm sure there are people who smoke quite more than every 2 weeks. I'm just trying to point out that weed isn't completely harmless, even though it is relatively less dangerous than tobacco and alcohol.

Marijuana has a possible but not definite link between psychosis, but I hold doubts over areas of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-term_effects_of_cannabis#Psychosis

I know a few old stoners and they're quite active. The only ones that cough and hack when running smoke cigs too. I'm sure the damage is very minor.
finally
does this mean people will stop saying "ohhh if u smokes a pack of marychewanna u will do BADDER DRUGS?!?!"
No shit. People who are in favor of keeping marijuana illegal always use this stupid theory of it being a gateway drug, but no one ever points fingers at tobacco or alcohol.

It is it's density; after combustion, take in fact of what was, the smoke will have attributes.
Smoke is smoke, but prefer anything natural over chemical.

This 'gateway' might as well be the conscious; live with the decisions made.
Fabrication of excuses...
I didn't start having respiratory issues until i started with cigarettes, which was 3 years or so after i started with pot.
I'm trying to kick the habit, i don't even get nic-fits anymore it's all boredom at this point.
A relatively non addictive, and all natural illegal substance is not the gateway; the legal and addictive alternative, which is processed and can kill you is actually the gateway? Guess there's always a first time.
While I'm not disagreeing with you, don't throw around all natural bullcrap it makes you as bad as advertisers.
I didn't start having respiratory issues until i started with cigarettes, which was 3 years or so after i started with pot.
I had asthma for most of my life due to vaccine damage as a young child, in and out of the hospital 2-3 times a year. It was so acute that I was basically addicted to albuterol. I started smoking and vaporizing cannabis as a teen and since then my asthma and respiratory condition has improved drastically! In cooperation with a healthy diet and exercise of course.
Shit I never thought about it like that
Make consumable Ethanol illegal, make weed legal. Everyone profits.
EDIT: Also to everyone who says smoking weed is dangerous, there are tons of other ways to effectively consume weed that don't require smoking and the actual drug part of weed can easily be synthesized into a liquid.
I think we already tried making alcohol illegal, and it worked just as amazingly as the current prohibition of weed does.

No and anything you smoke is bad for you, but it's not instantaneous and it's not extremely severe.

Alcohol will never be illegal, it's just way too accepted by everyone and is a source of massive revenue which is probably the only thing the governments really care about
