the website is broken, i keep getting internal server error
the website is broken, i keep getting internal server error
Same here. can't go further when i want to pay it. it freezes or something.
Sorry for bumping, but does anyone know how i can install these assets packs into cry engine? Can't figure it out where to put them. Help?
Amazon's offering isn't free. You have to host any servers on AWS, that could end up being quite expensive as S3 isn't always the best fit.

This turned me off completely from amazon's egine.

actually they say you can use any servers you want. it's just super easily intergrated for amazon servers
Unless you host your racks yourself. If you use a third-party provider, you have to use Amazon.
You can only use either Amazon's cloud servers or servers that you own. You can't rent a VPS from Digital Ocean and run the server on that for example.
and I see I'm late, but, yeah.
it's got a lot of cutting edge tech but theres like 2 major games in development using it, 1 being star citizen and the other being (lol) homefront 2
And Star Citizen's modded it so hard it's nicknamed the "Starengine" internally because it's not really Cryengine anymore. So, kinda doesn't count even.
Sorry for bumping, but does anyone know how i can install these assets packs into cry engine? Can't figure it out where to put them. Help?
I haven't yet figured out how to use the starter project, (In my case the racing one), but as far as I'm aware most of the assets need to be in the project folder of the project you want them in. Some files may also need to be imported, such as meshes that aren't natively supported by the engine, as far as I'm aware most of the Ryse stuff is game-ready. Sorry I can't be more help, after CryEngine 2 and Crysis modding I haven't touched the engine in years, and it seems like a lot has changed. I honestly don't like the file system nor do I particularly enjoy the clustered UI, and a lot of documentation for the engine hasn't been updated for years so there isn't much help if you need it, as someone who's used almost all of the popular game engines I'd have to say UE4 is much better and in my experience extremely easy to use and get started with. It's a shame the assets in this pack are meant to only be used with CryEngine, I'd really like to use them with other engines and I most likely will for prototyping purposes, but they are decent quality.

These projects shall be defined as without limitation a User’s movie or video or game or app or product that uses Assets or character model(s) that you have incorporated into your project in a way that the Assets and/or character model(s) cannot be extracted to allow further distribution, reproduction, modification or use of the Assets outside of your projects. You shall not use the Assets in any other way than indicated above, including without limitation: ⁃ offer the Assets for sale or license or any other use except as embedded in your projects; offer the Assets in any other way in which the Assets can be extracted and implement in other projects. The above license shall apply to the following Asset Packs: Plants and Shrubs Trees Environment Props Prototyping Kit Textures, Decals, & Visual Effects Audio Kit Vehicle Pack SE City Pack SE Weapons Pack Vehicle Pack HQ City Pack HQ Character and Animals

projects developed on any game engine with the embedded Assets in any way and in all media.
looks like it's only the CryTek developed ones that are bound to CryEngine only. I think it's reasonable.
It's definitely got some potential from the fiddling I did with it earlier today, but their launcher really needs some improvement because it's pretty unintuitive. Granted, it's in a beta state, but still, criticism is criticism. The only things that are keeping me from using it over the likes of Unity or UE4 are things like decent Blender support (because what aspiring dev is going to pay thousands for a Maya/3DSMax license) and the current lack of documentation. Both of these will hopefully be fixed with the community growing and asking for these things. I'm also hoping that they add support for Vulkan. Still, there's pretty much no reason to use Lumberyard now. KI's quality netcode is nice and all, but not at the expense of being shackled to Amazon's web services.
So basically those assets pack are there, but ain't game-ready to put in the cryengine? Great! I putted a few packs into my project libs -> Equipments packs I can see them in the Geom Entity, but still no luck to place them in the game. So, i probably missed something. But yeah, i also searched around the web. Still no luck either, no one knows how to install them. Even checked the offical cryengine forums. Nothing... I just simply wanna mess around with these packs.
Is that $13 dollar asset pack worth my money? The assets look really generic, like I could find them somewhere else for free, so I dunno. If they're royalty free then I'm sure they will pop up around the internet soon anyways.
I've bought the $13 package and yeah it looks generic, but for me as a beginner it's decent for getting started.
I've bought the $13 package and yeah it looks generic, but for me as a beginner it's decent for getting started.
Do you got it working? I'll be really glad how to put them in the cryengine.
Do you got it working? I'll be really glad how to put them in the cryengine.
I'm still downloading, but I have seen there's good tutorials on YouTube, so I'll try following them.
I'm still downloading, but I have seen there's good tutorials on YouTube, so I'll try following them.
I see some readme from those assets packs that it needs to be putted in the GameSDK folder into the Cryengine, but i think those readme files are pretty outdated, and not for Cryengine V, since it is a whole new version.
Source engine best engine pranked

In the Assets folder there are subfolders for objects, materials, textures, etc. Just did some testing with a model I exported from Blender and it worked for me.
Finally got the registration emails.

Lots of placed models appears to be red and round as a ball. I can't be the only here having this problem, there must be more that bought this humble bundle pack.
They seriously need to update their documentation and add more community support if they want people to use their engine. I switched from Cryengine to UE4 around this time last year, and the difference in support is night and day. Cryengine has a lot going for it, it's a shame that it's held back so badly by poor documenting and very little tools to ease newcomers in.

You can't do much, i bought assets pack at the Humble Bundle. Every bit i get this feeling that these packs i have bought aren't ready to use for the cryengine. I have the feeling you need to do much more than that. I suppose'd it was game-ready in the editor. By just simply paste it somewhere in the projects folder, and it works. There are no any instructions either for how-to, And no official documentation/tutorials yet... I can pretty much say it is a bad start for the new cryengine.
